How to keep visuals from changing

How do keep my visualizations from changing? I created visuals for the different tool names for our evar. What started happening is each time I click on a new tool in the freeform table, the visuals all change to that new tool. I selected lock selected items and lock selected positions, but they only lock the position in the workspace and lock the specific dates (both is not what I want).

I think I might have answered my own question. If I select Lock Selected Position, the visualization will not change. I didn't have to do this before, so I guess it must have been modified.
