Data Warehouse and Workspace reports help

Hello!

In the Data Warehouse I have built a report based on these dimensions: Day - Visitor ID - Media ID - Media Name - Embedded URL. And these metrics: Video Initiates - Content time spent.

All these are in one row.

I want to do something similar in the new Workspace tool, I can't find a way to use multiple dimensions and multiple metrics in one freeform table or any other template.

I can't find Visitor ID though in the new workspace, any tips?

Thanks!

Hello Jes,

To use Analytics or Marketing Cloud Visitor ID in Work space, you need to capture the same and store it in a traffic or conversion variable (s.prop or s.eVar). Else, you need to use Data warehouse to extract.

Thank You!

Could you please clarify what that means, As I understand, I need to somehow create a new dimension for the Visitor ID data?

Also, would you recommend Data Warehouse or Workspace?

Which one would be better for an automated report?

Thanks so much for your info

The default Visitor ID dimension is only accessible to the Data Warehouse and Data Feed tool. You will need to implement the visitor Id to be set in a custom variable, if you would like to use this in any other tool (such as Workspace).

If you want to do automation, I would recommend sticking with Data Warehouse. It is able to handle greater breakdowns and has better scheduling capabilities. (I am assuming by automation, you mean inserting the data in a different location)

Thanks allot!

Any idea why the data in Data Warehouse and Workspace are different?

In workspace I have a metric called "Content Time Spent" reporting 50h for a certain video over a period of 10 day.

In Data Warehouse the metric "Total seconds Spent" reports 20h for the same time period.

Why is this? and more importantly, is there a way to use the "Content Time Spent" metric from Workspace in the Data Warehouse requests? (This would be so helpful if that was possible)

Thanks allot again!

If you are looking at the same report suite in Data Warehouse, you should be able to see Content Time Spent.

Also note, that the Content Time Spent and Total Seconds Spent are separate metrics.

Time Spent : Total Time Spent metrics is calculated for the page

Video Parameters : Content Time spent is calculated for the video on the page.

Thank you again! Very helpful indeed, I can find the metric but it returns zero.

Any thoughts on that if I may ask?

Thanks!

You may need to check the implementation. Could be something wrong with the data capture.

You can reach out to the person who manages the implementation within the company, OR ask a supported user to open a ticket with Customer Care. (The first option would be the best, since the person who implemented would know more)

Thanks!

Is there anyway I can check the implementation? or the data capture?

Any pointer or tips on where to start?

Unfortunately, currently there is no one else than me to ask.

I can point out that the Content Time Spent works fine in Ad Hoc and Workspace, just not in Data Warehouse
