CJA Export limit

I've got a few questions about Customer Journey Analytics that I'm hoping you all can help me with.
Data Limits: What are the current data limits for CJA?
Dimensions: I heard about only 5 dimensions being allowed in CJA. That seems off to me, but I wanted to check.

If anyone has experience with large-scale implementations or complex setups in CJA, I'd really appreciate your insights. Also, if there are any good resources or documentation you'd recommend, please share!
Thanks  for your help, everyone.

I found this documentation, not sure if it answers all the questions, but it does list a lot of what is included and what is limited:

https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/legal/product-descriptions/customer-journey-analytics.html

There is the table of data, then later there is:

Dimensions and Metrics:

  • Customer may add up to 5,000 dimensions and 5,000 metrics to a single data view.

I think the "5" you are referring to is Derived Fields:

Derived fields.

  • Customer may add up to 5 different derived fields to a single tab in Analysis Workspace. Customer’s entitlement to derived fields per connection is detailed the Customer Journey Analytics Entitlement Packages table above.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm talking about "Export full table".

The CJA documents mentioned Dimension and Metric limit is 5.

Ah, I see. I don't actually have CJA, so I haven't actually used this.. but you're right... 5 dimensions seems a bit (err a lot) limiting...

Let me reach out to someone on the Adobe side who might know more about this....

Thanks Jennifer.

I dont have Adobe Analytics , otherwise I would you data warehouse.

Yeah.. there seems to be some odd trade-offs between the two systems some days....

And I know that CJA also doesn't have raw data feeds...  so the options to get data out in large quantities is limited...

Yes, that is accurate but specific to full table exports. Full table exports are only one of the ways to report on data in CJA.

You can have up to 5000 dimensions and metrics available for use in a single data view. You can use those components however you'd like in Analysis Workspace. But, specifically in full table exports, you are only allowed up to 5 dimensions and up to 5 metrics for that individual report. You can pull as many reports as you'd like using different dimensions and metrics.

Since CJA handles cardinality differently than AA, certain guardrails need to be put in place in order to accommodate the possibility of a large number of unique values in full export tables. In Analysis Workspace, high cardinality dimensions reach a limit and aggregate dimension items with low instances into a single value. Full table export reports every unique value up to the specified limit based on product tier.

Is it possible to export greater then 5 metrics / dimensions in CJA? How would that be done?

It depends on your use case.

If you're looking to export everything and don't care about data view settings, you can export stuff straight from Adobe Experience Platform using Destinations:

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/experience-platform/destinations/home

If you're just wanting to export a Workspace report, you can export projects in several formats (PDF, CSV, or JSON):

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics-platform/using/cja-workspace/export/export-proj...

You can also use Report Builder to simulate an export:

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics-platform/using/cja-reportbuilder/report-buider-...

Hopefully one of these fits what you're looking for!

Adobe Experience Platform using Destinations doesnt seem to have an option to export all click stream data.

hi @MattMa11

This link has a lot of export use cases and suggestions for each

If you want to essentially replicate data feeds from AA, I'd check this out
