Custom value set in "eVar"

I am trying to set/override value in "eVar3" but unable to do so, If anyone could help me out in achieving this functionality ( using js ). I tried the below link, but could'nt able to set value in "eVar3".

Please provide a bit more context into what you are trying to do, what do you mean by override, are you using a tag manager, how are you configured, etc..?
