Adobe Experience Manager Guides

Copying and pasting content from Excel results in a <simpletable> instead of a <table>, and there doesn't seem to be a way to convert it from a simple table after it is in the DITA file.   Has anyone figured out a way around this? I need a table title and I'm not going to retype a large table manually.

Is anyone using Oxygen as the editor with the UUID version of AEM Guides? I used the Oxygen 30-day trial to test things out and I noticed that Oxygen displayed the file name, not the file title. Since the file name is the GUID/UUID, this is not helpful or usable. Does anyone know if this is a configuration issue? Can I configure something in AEM Guides or Oxygen to display the file title in the map/editor instead of the file name? (Unfortunately, my 30-day trial is over and I don't want to purchase Oxygen yet if it isn't going to work.)

Hi All, As a client requirement, I am looking to change the default "Destination Path" field within DITA Map "output preset" console and make it more customer-specific like "content/dam/customer-name/fmdita-outputs/".   I found that its coming from "/bin/publishlistener?operation=PUBLISHBEACON&source=%2Fcontent%2Fdam%2Fdita%2FTest%2FAChiu%2FTestMap2.ditamap&_=1658754219322"But not sure if there is a config that can be leveraged to prefix default "Destination Path". please let me know if you have come across a use case like this?     Thanks.

We recently built our career site on AEM. When potential candidates come to our new AEM site by clicking a trackable media source link (i.e., a link from our Facebook page), they then click a link on our new site which directs them to our applicant tracking system (ATS) to apply. That ATS tracks the source where our applications are coming from. In this example, it should track as Facebook. Currently, no source is being passed through from our new AEM website. Is there something we need to do on AEM to ensure the source code from our media URL (where the person actually originally came in from to AEM site) is passed through to our ATS? Thank you.

Hi Everyone, I am new to this XML solution and trying to open the DITA file in Oxygen Editor. I have followed the steps provided on https://github.com/Adobe-TCS/DoX-Installer-for-AEMaaCSI am getting the option while trying to open the file from Assets - http://localhost:4502/assetdetails.html/content/dam/projects/test-proj/Test-topic.dita Then, I select to open with Oxygen Editor. It takes me to the Oxygen Editor tool, but not opening the file.How does this editing works? Any suggestion or tips are highly appreciated!Thanks!

Hi Team, Understand that there is common version framework for XML editor and Adobe AEM. We have the maximum 5 version settings in our Author environment that we would be keeping same and will not be configuring or altering this configuration. However for DITA, we have the requirement to keep n number of versions (Historical data) with in repository? could you please suggest any alternative to this (Except the alternate to keep n number of versions in configuration and purge content paths using Version purge)?Also any timelines to segregate the DITA versioning with AEM versioning framework? Thanks

Hi,   After migration to 4.1version PDF templates drop-down is empty with no values. Could this possibly be a bug or something? 

While mapping ditaelements to AEM components, p nodes are not flattened, even though the flatten tag is there by default for topic/p in /libs/fmdita/config/elementmapping.xml.  According to the documentation, the p nodes will be flattened, if we enable it in the configuration (https://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/en/xml-documentation-solution/4-0-3/Adobe-Experience-Manager-Guides_UUID_Installation-Configuration-Guide_EN.pdf). Did the below steps to enable the flattening. 1. Enabled "flattening.enabled"  in com.adobe.dxml.flattening.FlatteningConfigurationService2. Regenerated AEM site But stillthe node structure is coming expanded the resourcetype still remains same and not changed to fmdita/components/flattenedflatten property is not created Is there anything else I am missing here? 

We are trying to understand how to upgrade the version of AEM Guides in our AEMaaCS environment. AEM Guides is enabled (and was installed) by editing our Program in Cloud Manager and ticking the box for AEM Guides under "Solutions and Add-Ons". From the release notes, it states the following:   Upgrade your current Adobe Experience Manager Guides as a Cloud Service (later referred as AEM Guides as a Cloud Service) setup by performing the following steps: Check out the Cloud Services’ Git code and switch to the branch configured in the Cloud Services pipeline corresponding to the environment you want to upgrade. Update <dox.version> property in /dox/dox.installer/pom.xml file of your Cloud Services Git code to 2022.9.178. Commit the changes and run the Cloud Services pipeline to upgrade to the latest release of AEM Guides as a Cloud Service. However when I do step #1, I see no folder path for /dox/dox.installer. Where is this located? Are we looking

Has anyone else noticed problems with ctrl-z undo, especially assuming it is a multiple-level undo in the web-based XML Editor? Instead of undoing actions in order, it seems to do a complete undo-of-everything-you-did-in-the-file. 

Has anyone seen the FMPS failing to generate a map imported from another DITA system, with that DITA CCMS's GUID, and then deleting the map from the repository upon failure? I don't have a problem with a PDF failure, but the map being deleted from the AEM repository is a problem. What's odd is that lots of other maps from the existing DITA CCMS work just fine and all I had to do to this one was to create a map with AEM and copy/paste all the topicrefs from the old map into the new map and it worked just fine. So far this has happened about a half-dozen times with dozens and dozens of other maps working just fine without having to be recreated within AEM.

We have a conref note in a topic that displays in the AEM Guides web editor author mode but does not display in Preview mode or in our published PDF. While we have two outputclasses set on different element tags in this topic, neither outputclass excludes anything from the topic. We can't figure out why this behavior is happening.

Using AEM Guides on Cloud AEM 1. Created a sample ditamap 2. Tried to generate a PDF using a sample preset created having a Hi-Tech OOTB template did not create a PDF with TOC   Does it need more settings? Or this is an issue?

This metadata is stored in your source DITA map content, and it can be easily inserted in your page layout.   Please provide a code syntax on how to get the values of these custom metadata variables in the templates .plt files?

1. Is there a way to enable PDF output generation using the Native PDF publishing in the map output console? When I try to create a new output preset, I see the options to generate using DITA-OT and FrameMaker Publishing Server. However, the option of Native PDF is missing.     2. In the repository view though I can see an option to add a preset and I can configure Native PDF there and select a PDF template. But this has to be done for all maps one by one. Can this be configured at a root folder level and is available for all maps by default under it?

I am trying to rotate a table in our documentation and cannot get it to work. I have set the orient attribute on the table element to "land", but it is not showing up when I preview the document in the XML Editor or when I generate a PDF output.   

Hello Community,   I created a translation project to translate the assets (DITA Topics/Maps) from source language folder (say en_us) to a new target Ianguage (say es).  I used the OOTB Microsoft's Machine Translation (free license) for doing the same. After assets are translated, when i go to CRXde and open the jcr:content of any translated DITA topic , I see that fmUuid value is exactly same as the fmUuid value of source language DITA topic. Is this behaviour expected?   The same behavior (consistent fmUuids) is expected when we try to integrate it with any 3rd party integrations like Lionbridge? Or it depends on the vendor?      

After following the instructions in the configuration guide, when I try to generate DITA from my FrameMaker files, I get the following error. I don't have any spaces or special characters in any names. What could be causing it? 

AEM 6.5.11 AEM Guides v4.0.2.10   I have a Thai sentence inserted into my English source content because it needs to appear in the English PDF output. We do similar things with French, German, and Italian without any issues, but the Thai content renders in the PDF as a string of question marks (???????).   How do I get the Thai and any other non-Latin/Germanic characters to display? Is this a UTF-8 vs UTF-16 issue? AEM Guides is UTF-8 and our previous CCMS (SDL LiveContent Architect and XMetaL) was UTF-16 and allowed this.

I added a custom workflow model to the "post generation workflow" input of AEM SITE output config. After the I click the Generate button, the status of output never changes to complete. After manual verification, I see that the site output was generated correctly and the workflow was executed fine as well (workflow was marked COMPLETE and moved to achieve). However, the output console corresponding to the ditamap keeps on showing post-processing state and never finishes. The workflow I used is very simple with only a process step which has just a logger statement inside. Hello -- Anything we place inside the <draft-comment> element is appearing in our PDF output. I thought if I changed the document state of the topic from “Draft” to “Approved” or “Done” in Assets this would prevent the <draft-comment> from appearing in the published output.   Unfortunately, that did not work, and the <draft-comment> appeared in the published output after I changed the document state of the topic to “Approved” or “Done”.   How can this be resolved?

After upgrading to SP12, we’re seeing strange behaviors with move functionality. When I try to move a master page that contains live copy, during the move operation it only moves that specific page, no references are pulled. However, when I try to move the same master page back to its original position, it shows all the references of live copies that should be published/re-published. Is it the expected behavior?

When I upload files to the AEM Guides repository, the file title is correct (the file name is the UUID).   After I open the map and topics in the XML Editor, the file title changes to match the <title> element within the topic. The name/title of the file in the repository needs to be different from the title element within the topic. How can we make the file title stop changing unless we change it in the Properties?
