What do you mean by "visible on the project"? Are you saying you want to see the comment on the Task View? Are you creating a report on tasks and want to include the comment? If you look at the Updates tab on a project, it will show you the comments on tasks.

i want to see the task update on the Project view. I thought all updates also rolled up to the project but now i'm finding they are not

Task updates do roll up to the Project updates, only document updates do not roll up yet.
