Use of Wild Cards in Project Templates

One of my users asked if it was possible to have changeable Task assignments in a Project template.

Essentially they would like the assignment of a certain number of Tasks to be auto-populated with the name of the Project owner when the Project is created.

I am aware that the assignments can be set within the Template and that the Task assignments can be managed in bulk and the only thought I had outside of automation or an integration would be whether Wild Cards could be used but I don't think so. 

Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.
