Searching content in the "update status" field of a task

Interesting in getting other users' thoughts on this topic. I'd like to use hashtags in the updates to help me gather related topics across projects (such as all activity for video recording would get a #video tag in pertinent updates). Unfortunately, it seems that you can only service the most current update. Would being able to search all status updates be useful to you in your usage? thanks!

Hi, If a user has typed a hashtag into an update, you can report on it (including filtering for hashtags) using a Note report. You just need to filter on the 'Note Text' field. System Searches for Notes will also return hashtags from updates. Hope this helps. Regards, David

Are the updates persistent, or do they disappear after a certain period of time?

The comments stay unless deleted. I’ll post more on this topic later, once I’ve further refined the reports I’m building using this approach. Initial results are positive.
