Resource Planner – Exporting Project Allocations

Avatar

Level 3

Hi Everyone, I am trying to export the users’ allocations along with the hours assigned to them for a project that is currently in the planning stage. This export is required for further review by a team outside of the workfront. However, when I use the Resource Planner, it shows all users instead of only the users assigned to my project. Is there a way to export only the allocations specific to my project?

Thank you for your support!

Make sure you have filters in place. I've heard two different approaches:

  1. Product insists that you need Resource Pools in place to make Resource Planner work.
  2. Support told me that Resource Pools aren't required, that filters on something else should suffice. In this case, you should be able to filter to projects you own.

Thank you so much for the response!

I’m using the Project Name in the filter and switching to the User View, but I’m still seeing all the users available in the system, along with the users actually assigned to the project and their planned hours.

However, I only want to export the users I have assigned to that specific project, not the entire list.

I had also tried attaching resource pools to the project, then I was getting the list of all the users in the pool.

Do you have any insights on the right combination of filters and views I should use to achieve this?

Admittedly it's been a whlie since I played with this area because it tends to show lots of extra stuff no matter how you filter. I've been told by support that this is by design. However, I think you need to filter on something else related to users, whether that be a Team, Group, Job Role, or Resource Pool.
