Quick Tip: Check your task constraints when you can't figure out why your timeline isn't updating or the predecessors don't seem to be affecting dates correctly.

Remember that task constraints affect how dates populate and whether they are taking predecessors and durations into account. Remember that manually selecting dates will update the task constraint to "Must Start On" or "Must Finish On" (unless the constraint is already set to Fixed Dates).

Haha! Right? It can be so frustrating sometimes, then you check and you're like - AH! It got switched from "As Soon As Possible"... I get tripped up by this often!

We actually have two views for people to use to quickly check. One has the task constraint column showing and another highlights a row when the task constraint is not As Soon As Possible. We then have trained people to switch views first to see if that is the issue first.

You've trained people to self-troubleshoot?
