Project Closure Report(s)

Avatar

Does anyone have experience creating a report or set of reports to capture all objects and related updates (including system updates) for project closure? We archive our project documentation in network folders at project closure and would like to be able to export the Workfront project to include with that documentation.

Thanks!

Yes, makes sense. I have looked into this in the past and have not been able to find a way to make that connection in a report/view.

I would recommend asking the community on this thread from last week on text mode to see if anyone has been able to find a way to grab all updates/no updates on a task view or note report utilizing text mode.

Without having to create a report for the project details, you can use the PDF export feature found under project details.

You could also export the task list from within the project as well without creating an additional report. I would adjust the task view to include all the columns that you would want to know about that task.

Hi @Kiersten_K! Thanks for the feedback. This export feature is along the lines of what I'm looking for, but need it to pull in all the Updates on the tasks/issues (user updates and system updates). I'm guessing there's a way to pull this into a column on a view, but I don't know how.

This is sooo close! I got all the columns pulled in that I needed, but I think the last thing I'm missing is a way to pull in all the tasks, even if there is no update on them. Essentially I want to pull in all Tasks, with all the columns shown below (this is from our prior PMIS so the column/field names are a little different from Workfront). The report needs to pull in all tasks on the project, regardless of whether there are notes or not. The ones with notes need to pull in all notes.

I thought maybe I could do a View instead of a report, and export using the Export from Task List steps you shared above, but I don't see a way to pull in the Notes (all notes) on a view. It seems like the only way to access all notes on an object is by using the Note Report... But then the note report doesn't pull in all my tasks.

Hope that makes sense. Thank you!
