Open Tasks from Dashboard in New Window?

Several members of our team have expressed frustration that when they click on a task from their MyTasks dashboard, it goes directly to the task, and they have lost the dashboard. Is there a way to force the tasks to open in a new window, keeping the dashboard visible (without clicking the back button)?

I'm not sure, but holding down the shift key plus clicking the link will do it.

You can't hard code essentially a 'target_blank' code in WF links but you can just right click the link from a report/dashboard to open in a new window:
