This has happened to me to, and I submitted a ticket about a month ago. We couldn't figure out what was causing it as it seemed inconsistent and random. Then I finally figured out one way that things were deleted. If I had a completed task that I had to mark as new again and make it a priority, then all of the other priority tasks would be deleted. I'm not sure if that is the only way it occurred, but it definitely was the culprit in my case. They are currently working on a solution.
