My organization is trying to enforce SOP and push the adoption of the
templates we've developed. We have not allowed users to copy projects or
to make their own templates, but they can (and do) still copy tasks
rendering these other controls moot.
Hi Elena, We also did a major purge looking for projects long left
untouched/incomplete as well as deleting those that were 0% complete. We
also did the same thing with tasks and issues - one major purge. That
was then followed by our ongoing clean-up efforts where 2 reports are
sent weekly to the entire company detailing overdue assignments (5 days
past due) and overdue projects (30d past due if Active, 90 if on hold or
planning). The emails go out Sunday evening (we have users across the
I'm kind of torn between the simplicity of having one column to view at
a time (as in NWE) and the convenience of fewer clicks (as in Classic).
Perhaps keep favorites as its own item (star icon) and move recents into
the search bar.
Sure thing. I won't pretend to have "all the answers" but I can
certainly speak on our philosophy, our solutions and some of the
challenges we still face. I'm on Eastern time and I have some time this
afternoon after 3:30 and there's (as of now, anyway) nothing on my
calendar for tomorrow.
Hi Lila, My agency is approaching 1,000 users. I'll admit we are
struggling with training and consistent use of the system, but a good
portion of that is due to the fact that we are made up of 7
semi-independent working groups all under a single Workfront instance.
Some lessons I've learned (often the hard way) is to dial back the
customizability for many users. We had a TON of views, filters, reports,
etc. with varying degrees of quality and no naming convention. We
created policies where proje...
It would be great if we could target report emails to users the report
applies to rather than it going to an entire group/team/user
list.Example - a project report showing projects that are overdue by 10
days or more, sent weekly but only to the owners of those projects and
their managers. The recipient section of the recurring email menu would
allow you to either select user fields that appear in the report or to
add parameters in the same way you build reports.
Currently when you create a team, you are set as the team owner. My
company only allows admins to create teams (ensuring consistency and
reducing bloat) so creating a team is always a multi-step process:
navigate to teams are, open new team, set members and options, search
for the team you just made, edit owner. Being able to edit the owner as
you're making the team would be a simple but very useful fix.
We can now set the "Work on It" button to be a "start" button, but it
only seems to apply to tasks involving a team. It would be even better
if we could set this as a global standard. Otherwise it can be confusing
that tasks behave one way if only users are assigned, but behaves
differently if there is a team in the assignment.
So long as there is some easy way to set NWE/Classic that doesn't
involve going to a whole other page would be helpful. Granted, any
solution here would be solving what is in fact a temporary problem, I
think it would go a long way to helping admins get their whole instance
on the NWE.
