When you set up the Sources at the top of the board you have the ability to setup items coming from either tasks or issues (or both). We do this for our WF admin team where we have filter for any tasks assigned to our team or to any individual on our team. We also have an issues filter for our project queue so any request sent into our work queue also shows up on our board.
If users are clicking the Request button from a task and just logging, that would be a process issue to address. You could set up your templates with QueueTopics so when users click Request it points them to queue (like your Workfront Queue) to fill out your form and submit, thus it would get routed to your Board like any other request coming into your queue.
