"Shameless plug" discussion; I'm good with that. :) HR Admin vs. SysAdmin "https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360028785333-HR-Admin">https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360028785333-HR-Admin I'm told via a member of our Workfront implementation team that this has been a headache for more than just us, and that their development team is giving this (or something like it) serious consideration. The basic gist is that Workfront straddles a line between Project Management, Billing, and pre-Payroll. It does cost tracking of people, which immediately involves issues like individual user pay rates. This kind of information should not be available to the SysAdmin for privacy reasons (and at some level violates corporate security rules: the "need to know" rule). Conversely, anyone who can see this fiscal information likely has no business having access to all the other SysAdmin configuration stuff because they aren't the "techies." So really Workfront needs an "HR Admin" and then a way to lock-out the SysAdmin from fiscal information. It would mean *someone* probably has to be a master SysAdmin to see both, but they should be able to delegate another level of granularity just below themselves that causes the split between Workfront Admin and HR/Payroll Admin (for lack of a better term). This problem has left me in the awkward position of technically being the primary Workfront admin (on paper), but the HR-like role actually being assigned Administrator and me being assigned to a group called "Workfront Admin." To lock me out of the fiscal stuff means I'm also locked out of a whole bunch of preferences, layouts, etc. Thankfully my manager is still a SysAdmin and is allowed to see everything, but it also means she is stuck doing a long list of admin items that normally I would do as her Associate. Very messy and awkward. Worse, she may be forced to downgrade me before launch (and get stuck finishing-up things on her own) and will definitely have to downgrade me post-launch (and that period is bound to be full of changes). Hi, I believe this is already out there (so please share a link if you have it), but we'd like to build Agile/Kanban type reports for tasks or issues for groups of people. We don't need full Agile functionality (team, backlog, iterations, etc.), but just like the visual. We have a lot of people asking us to build integrations with Microsoft Planner, Monday, or Trello, and the main reason is just for this visual picture of the work. Please upvote for admins to be able to change the user settings/views via a layout template. I submitted a ticket to Workfront and their response was to put it into the idea exchange. I want to change the individual's notifications and the tabs under their avatar. Our designers would like to see a color separation tool in Workfront proof, similar to how it works under the Output Preview in Acrobat. Confirming brand colors before art gets released to the printer would be great to be able to do right in the proof without needing to open Acrobat separately. The shortcoming with on-screen proofing is that many on-screen blues look the same, but print very differently. It doesn't matter if you have a regular monitor or a high end proofing monitor, some colors that look the same on screen look different in print, so there's no way to catch these mistakes visually. Hi All, There is two ideas that I would like to promote. With the new feature coming of document updates being visible in the projects update stream, it would be great if we could see all task and document updates to be shown at the parent level. We use parent tasks as deliverables and some of the deliverables will have the same time names so can be confusing looking at all updates at the project level. If you make reports with lots of custom data fields, then you might also find is useful to use HTML inside of a valueexpression property so you can style your view without an erroneous amount of columns all using sharecol=true . Hi! I didn't see this in the thread doing a Find. We would like the ability to upload documents via the Home right side panel for tasks. This will allow the task assignee to post a document when the task is not so involved that they need to go to the task landing page. Please let me know if there is another idea out there or if this function is already on the road map. Thanks! Currently, auto-generated Workfront reports can only include the Detailed tab; in some cases (for example, reports being sent to executives), you'd rather send the Summary or Chart tab instead. Hi all, we have recently implemented approval processes that are started from a request. In general the functionality works ok. But there are a number of improvements we would like to see happen and I'm hoping to generate some momentum in the idea exchange for these: A active approval process can be reset/ restarted by a change to the global approval process that it was generated from. This causes approvers to have to reapprove. And even if it is approved it causes confusion on the approvals page. June 14: I added a approver to stage 1 and modified stage 2- The system asked EVERYONE TO REAPPROVE Example 2: June 6th: Full approval path (Stages 1-3) was completed June 14: I modified the Global Approval path. The Approvals Tab now looks incomplete! Add a due date for approvers for each stage. I found this one because it was similar to functionality that I wanted and is something I could use in lieu of my more specific need. The second one I'd like to promote is what I was actually after for our group: New Projects: Ability to Add Default Custom Forms https://experience.workfront.com/s/idea/0870z0000004VuNAAU/detail I really want to drive people to our templates, but there are a few edge cases that don't need specific templates beyond the fact that we have two custom forms that must be on all projects to capture key project-level metadata and some basic info required by our Finance department.
