How to Sync Asset Metadata for Assets Uploaded in AEM First

We are switching from the enhanced connector to the native integration between AEM and Workfront.  Our process involves uploading assets in AEM rather than uploading them in Workfront.  So we are trying to somehow sync the metadata between AEM and workfront through the native integration for assets that are uploaded into AEM into a linked folder that exists in a project.  So we want to pull the project metadata into the assets in AEM without having to manually link each one or without having to upload the assets in workfront first.  Is there a strategy using Fusion or someway that we can accomplish this?
