Hi @itsPrassy - You can hide the tab for project and task updates through layout templates. If you go to a layout template, you can select the "eye" icon to hide it (repeat the process for both projects and tasks).

As a follow up to @VicSellers answer, you can also assign the layout templates she mentioned to broad groups of users as well instead of just doing it on an individual basis. That can be based on job role, members of teams/groups, etc.
