Does anyone know a way to force a "carriage return" in Workfront

If you are working within the api, does anyone know how to trigger a "new line" or "carriage return" in Workfront. For example, if I were pushing data to a field on a custom form, just want to know how to separate each on a new line! Instead of everything looking like one paragraph. Basically a formatting question.
