Asking for Feedback - Workfront Unified Experience Rollout

Avatar

Level 3

Seeking to learn how others managed the rollout of the Unified Experience for Workfront from their end users experience.

  • How did you communicate the change to your users?
  • Did the removal of branding become an issue?
  • Did the UI pose any challenges to the users?
  • Any lessons learned that we should leverage?

We were moved to the unified experience in July this year and so far there has not been too many rumblings about it from my users. Below are my insights below to your questions:

  • How did you communicate the change to your users?
    • When communicating this change to the users through email, I took the approach of calling this a change to the top navigation bar to not confuse them with the unified experience verbiage. I mentioned that the change was due to fully bringing Workfront into the Adobe family of tools and that there would be some additional buttons at the top and a slight format change.
  • Did the removal of branding become an issue?
    • We were not leveraging branding.
  • Did the UI pose any challenges to the users?
    • For those that use the Time Off feature, I called out this change in my email on where to now go to add in time off and provided updated training guides that we create.
    • Most of my users (outside of admins) do not use the hamburger menu as we use pins in layout templates to point people where they need to go.
    • Biggest downfall is losing vertical space of your browser, especially if you are on a laptop.
  • Any lessons learned that we should leverage?
    • This change compared to getting users on the new home, was simple in my opinion. I expected more push back from users about seeing new buttons, but since we were rolling out new home for our team around this time, they were less worried about this as it did not cause any disruption to their daily workflows.

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks Kiersten - you mentioned the Time Off feature - what has changed on this? I have not come across anything about this changing, which worries me!

No need to worry. The Time Off feature has not changed but how you navigate to your account to log time off has changed.

To navigate to your profile, click on the blue circle icon in the upper right corner and click on Workfront Profile. Once you are in your account, steps remain the same to add in time off.
