Adding Multiple Project Templates to a Project

I currently have a process that involves adding multiple project templates to a project. I have done some testing and wanted to confirm that the only items that can be added/updated would be found in the Options section (attached) and not areas within the Overview and Finance Sections of the Project. Thanks!

You are correct. It will not override the overview fields of the project when adding secondary templates to a project. It will also not override custom field data if the field is duplicated across forms.

  • If the fields from the template custom forms already exist on the project and contain information, they preserve the information already on the project. You cannot edit them during attaching the template.

This page has some information on attaching templates to an already created project and what happens to the fields. https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/manage-work/projects/create-and-manage-project-templates/attach-template-to-project-overview

You can create a new project from template with the first template you require and after creating it, you will still be able to add the second one using the 'attach Template' option in the three dots beside the project name.

to better clarify -  during the process of adding additional template would the only changes/additions be to the Options section and not the Overview and Finance Sections.
