Visually associate tasks and sub-tasks in the Kanban board

There needs to be a way to visually associate parent tasks and their subtasks in the Kanban board. Subtasks should be placed under and indented in from their parent task, or subtasks should be seen in the parent card when the parent card is expanded.

In the WF Kanban view (unlike the Scrum swimlanes), there is no visual way of determining the association between these items. They are just lumped all together in the single list:

We are forced to work around this with complex naming conventions and manually setting the color, but the team is not adopting the practice because it becomes tedious when dealing with busy projects.

In contrast, the same example in Jira is more clear visually that the network diagram and the requirements document are subtasks of requirements gathering.
Without being able to embed Kanban cards like this a busy board become impossible to work with.

Jira also has a nice visual of showing the parent-child relationship when the child is in a different status column from the parent.
