Delegate feature to send all messages and notices to delagee

The new feature of being able to delegate work to another person is a great concept, however, as it functions now, it's not useful to us. Currently, if you delegate work to another person, the only place that work appears for the delagee (person you delegated to) is in their My Work area. That person doesn't get any predecessor task notices, or any update notes sent to the delegator. This is only useful if the task dates are exact, all work is completed exactly on schedule, and no one adds any notes in the Updates area.

The ideal state would be for any notices that would normally go to the delegator, to be forwarded to the delagee, so they would get predecessor notices and Update notes intended for the delegator as well as see tasks in the My Work area.

Completely echo and agree with Cheryl's idea here. This is a large gap in the feature today. I would say a fair amount of users in our instance do not use the home screen in the way this was intended to work.

I agree, we need to be able to pull that into dashboard reports as our users don't use the home screen.  We also don't use planned completion dates, so it would be nice to be able to use a custom date, similar to what is used on the calendars.

I completely agree as well, at the moment the feature certainly lacks in a lot of areas that cause problems for our users. For us in particular it's around not getting notifications for commit date changes, or being able to approve changes to the dates.

There is a lot of potential here.  We need all our tasks & requests with past due dates to forward to the delegatee as that is late/rush work. Much more settings/options for what/how work objects delegate would be awesome.

Following, and wondering...

IF (in caps) Workfront allowed User A to grant access for User B to "Login As" User A (only) so that User B could periodically do so in order to cover User A's complete desk while User A is away (and at that time, removes said access), since Workfront already properly audits any such Login As edits as "User A on behalf of User B"

...would such an enhancement quickly resolve all such concerns around Delegation (SOX nerds, I'm lookin' at you...)?

Regards,

Doug

If User A delegates to User B, then user B should get all the notifications, access, etc. (including Workfront Proof) that User A would have otherwise received.

Which means reports/dashboards would work properly. We use custom dashboard hotsheets as My Work has never worked as needed for most users.

Or make it granular enough so that maybe notifications are delegated, but access is limited, etc.
