Ability to Remove Setup/Proofing from Layout Template Main Menu Options

I had a user today try to change his personal email notifications from SETUP email notifications, not from his profile, and thankfully he got an error. I checked his layout template's main menu options to ensure Setup wasn't there, and it's not even an option to keep/remove like the other main menu options. Please add 'Setup' as an option to keep/remove from layout templates. Even though users may not be able to access many items within there, it is clutter to have it show as an option in the first place. I'd also like Proofing to be able to be removed. Please upvote!

I did a quick search and logged in as a few users and found that Setup is tied to their access level. I have three users with the same layout template and three different access levels. Two have Setup, one does not. The two with Setup see different options in their window.

I didn't have a chance to look deeply into which settings control which feature but my Team Leads only see "Teams" when they go into setup which allows them to make new teams or edit existing ones they are the owner of. Meanwhile my Portfolio Manager only sees "Processes > Milestone Paths" and "Scorecards" within their Setup menu.

Knowing this is the case, I see the reason and need for Setup to be available for certain users with the thought that if their access level gives them the ability to edit things within the setup they should have access on their main menu to get there.

I think Plan gets it, any license type below that doesn't. But the crux of my Idea is that even for people with Plan license, I don't want them to just automatically see Setup in their main menu. It should not be in there on default and only admins add it to users as needed, in my opinion.

@MoniqueEvans ah so you're saying it's tied to specific access levels. I was just looking at the access level options but I'm not seeing it's always a 1:1 from access levels to what's in Setup, not all the items in Setup are items to revise in the access level, ya know?

@Madalyn_Destafney Agreed which is why each person sees a different setup menu depending on their access level. If you want to see my setup we can arrange a time to chat and I'll share my screen showing the variations. I haven't dove in deeper to see what setting controls which option.

One thing I noticed is if I typed in the URL for a specific portion of setup (example: /setup/custom-forms) as I'm logged in as the user they get an error message stating they do not have permission so that may be what happened the person that happened to get to /setup/email-notifications
