Custom forms in Workfront aren’t just for collecting info, they’re your secret weapon for smarter workflows, better data, and smoother collaboration. And we know some of you are doing wildly creative things with them.
So let’s hear it: What’s the most brilliant, unexpected, or just plain cool custom form you’ve built (or seen)? 🦁

I honestly think that User custom forms change lives but I won't go into detail there since I just talked about it last month at The Skill Exchange.
However, I don't think I've talked about my Program Custom form in a good while. Some people might know that I have one Portfolio for all of marketing and the way that we're able to do that is because we use Programs for multiple functions all with the help of a Program custom form. The first field is identifying the Program Type which is probably how most have their Portfolios set up. We have choices like "Operations" "Product Development" "Campaign & Event" and "Evergreen/Core" so we can categorize as necessary and then use logic sections to house additional information about each type of Program. And if something blurs the lines its more fluid than having the rigid 1:1 relationship between Portfolio and Program.
Our most robust custom form has to be what we've created to solve for requesting objects/deliverables. This was YEARS in the making, and we continue to iterate as we learn.
This is how it BEGAN anyway, until we realized there was so much valuable data and information being submitted in those fields, why not take it a step further?
Our fantastic fusion automation partner helped us dream up and build a backend solution that keeps a 'master list' of object specs. Meaning, when a selection is made on a certain field - it will pull in the static data for each object (sizes, file format, etc.) so minimize manual inputs and speed up the process. In addition, we took advantage of concatenating fields to auto-populate file naming to achieve that same goal, less manual input and time saved. This beautiful form was the catalyst to help us ultimately simplify our media trafficking process and remove several manual steps and duplicative documents along the way.
For some inspo, check out this Expert Insights video where I discuss how we use custom forms to do creative brief reviews and have Fusion send updates to PM's or remove tasks if they are not needed. Go to 13:47 in the video if you want to only see this portion.
