Hello,

Does anyone know why duration are decimals and not whole numbers?

Thanks!

Durations can show in partial/fractional days based on the # of planned hours compared to the schedule assigned to the user the task/issue is assigned to (or the project schedule, based on your settings). If someone has an 8hr day as part of their user schedule, and you assign something that's 1hr, and don't touch the duration, it's a fractional part of their day. You can set the duration too to 1 day for example, but if you just let the duration automatically calculate based on planned hrs then that's why you'd see fractional days.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.

Is there a way I can show only whole days?

You can just set the duration manually and put in 1 month, 2 days, etc. along with your planned hrs.

Hello,

When I enter 1 day it still reverts to .88 days.

Is there a setting I need to configure?

Thanks!

Hi there, interesting. I tested it again myself and am able to change it to a day instead of the default partial day, regardless of constraint. Try messing with the Duration Type under Working Time in the overview section of task details. It defaults to Simple I believe, maybe you have it set to something else that is affecting that.

Hi,

I tried changing to all task types and still seeing decimal days.

My task constraint is fixed dates - could this be why?

Regards,

- Andrew.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

Unfortunately I still cannot determine how to enforce whole numbers on my tasks.
