New date comparison in Workspace not using correct formula

Hello,I just realized the formula of Percent Change in the newly release date comparison feature in Workspace is using the following: (New date - Old date) / New dateShouldn't it be: (New date - Old date) / Old date ?I reported this as a bug to Client Care but they replied with this is working as designed, however I don't see how it makes sense to report the percent change of a number in terms of the new value when you are comparing the new performance based on the previous performance... The pr...

Re: How to correctly report category revenue by product finding methods?
Avatar

I agree to track the category with an eVar on the category page because CVR will be from the merchandising instance page instead of the product page. In this case it would be Conversion Syntax type of merchandising eVar and I would set it outside the s.products because the product ID that a customer opens is not available at the time the eVar is set. So my follow-up question is: can I set this same Conversion Syntax eVar within the s.products string on the confirmation page? The scenario I'm try...

How to correctly report category revenue by product finding methods?
Avatar

The reason I ask is with the typical Product Finding Method reports proposed by Adobe Consulting, internal campaigns links and navigation links (browsing) to category pages are mutually exclusive because each report will be populated with a "non-value" when a customer either Browsers to a category or clicks an Internal Campaign link. This is not a problem if internal campaigns direct visitors to a landing page, but it becomes a problem when the internal campaign link takes a customer to a catego...

Are alerts in Reports & Analytics THAT bad??
Avatar

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I can't set actionable hourly alerts for basic metrics such as Page Views or Orders on an hourly basis. My goal is to send an email if PageViews or Orders fall below a lower hourly threshold. The main problem is I can't specify the alert to trigger based on specific hours. My 2-5am hours will definitely have lower PVs and Orders than 2-5pm... but I can only set the alert to check for the same lower limit per every hour, and this wont do! I need to have differ...

Hi Tanmay,We are using AdWords. Adsense for search makes complete sense. How do you configure the paid search detection rule to count these as links coming from paid searches? For doubleclick.net, is that strictly for content network? Meaning the ads are showing up to customers via contextual targeting instead of keyword matching to search queries?

This helps a lot thanks! I also checked and the existing rule does categorize google.com/afs as paid search links already.

Paid Search Detection for google domains

I'm debugging my paid search detection rule by looking at a raw data feed, columns paid_search, page_url, ref_domain, and referrer columns. The rule is currently set to:Search Engine: - any -Rule: ContainsFilter: srch=1My paid search links have a parameter WT.srch=1 in them, and from the data feed I can see the rule is working, even though the paid search links have WT.srch=1 and my filter is srch=1. This is good. In addition, all paid search links from Google have an internal custom parameter t...

I know the Pages reports attributes events (and revenue) linearly, but I think the Entry Pages report attributes them as First touch... Can someone please confirm? I can't find this in the knowledge base.

Thank you for digging this up! I seemed to be aghast at the moment about this... hahOnce I implement an eVar to capture time I will be able to set alerts based on the values of that evar report, giving me the ability to set different alerts per hour... but the problem is I can't set eVar reports to check for an alert at the end of an hour. I think Reports & Analytics just isn't the tool for alerting on an hourly basis. It would be cool though!

If I include a reportlet for each suite I'd get the same data, but I'd end up with a much larger dashboard as well.... Shouldn't I be able to leverage the report suite selection of Reports & Analytics? The data varies greatly by suite because each suite is a different brand.Ideally I should be able to create the template dashboard with the custom reportlets and then just switch report suite to see data relevant to each brand, no?

Hi,I'm trying to create a dashboard with the following:a customized reportlet showing a bubble chart instead of a bar graph, show the first 30 items sorted by a calculated metric, not show the calculated metric in the graph,be able to switch report suites in the dashboard while maintaining the reportlet settings. I know for a bubble chart Report & Analytics will use the first three metrics selected, 1st for X axis, 2nd for Y axis, and 3rd for Bubble Size. Once I have the chart the way I want to sh...

Hi Adam,I should've been more specific. The eVar is conversion syntax merch, so I'm setting it on the page right before the product page together with a dummy s.products value (to get internal campaign clicks and product clicks in the same report like you discuss here). Hence the non-value for when customers navigate away from the internal campaign destination page by either browsing, or performing a search, etc.. I understand the First allocation will not overwrite if there is a new campaign co...

Measure Internal Campaigns with Participation metrics?

I like the concept of measuring Content Velocity discussed here, but I'm not used to using Participation Metrics so I hope there's a Participation Metric guru out here that can help shed some light on my doubts... I am wondering if we can do a similar analysis but for conversion-related reports, specifically Internal Campaigns? Instead of understanding which page influences customers to view more content as Content Velocity does, the idea is to understand which internal campaigns do a better job...

What about implementing variables that you know will always have a specific value on a page, like for example the pageName variable, would that make sense to implement server-side? If so, would it still be preferrable to implement client-side?

Hey Adam - thanks for the tip. At first I didn't understand if I would be able to see Site Exits in a table, so I could sort which terms have the most site exits and optimize Results for those. But this actually would work only if the Did Not Bounce value is set for any page that the customer goes to next, not only if users click on one of the results.Only problem is I wouldn't be able to use Total Site Exits as the overall metric to gauge overall Results performance, because Did Not Bounce valu...

How many merchandising variables do you use?

Hello everyone,As I become more and more comfortable with merchandising variables and how to configure them correctly for accurate success events allocation - especially revenue - I wonder if there are any reasons for not using a merchandising variable (other than lack of Instances counts)? If you have an evar that is not merchandising, you only have the option of allocating at Last, First, or Linear touch. But this is so wrong in cases in which evars can have multiple values over the course of a...
