I am creating a document where a question such as "What country were you born in?" is asked. If the answer is United States, then another field will pop up asking what state. How do I do this?

You would type in the script field:sum(field1)+(field2)+(field3)Make sure that you are using the script in FormCalc and that the calculate button is shown on the field to your left of the script field.

Select the button icon under insert custom. You will see that you can change the wording to submit by email. Change it and then look to the left where you will see three selections of submit, execute and regular. Choose submit and click on the tab at the top. Type in your email address and select submit PDF in the white square underneath where you typed in your email address. This will allow you to send the PDF by email.

Hi, I am creating an order form where I have a subtotal and then the shipping charges are dependant upon the subtotal. How do I script this so that, say for instance, my subtotal is 43.00 and the shipping charges for orders between 0 and $49.99 are $10.00. Also, how do I add surcharge ($15.00) if only 1 item is placed and if a residential address is used (checkbox) ($3.00). I have everything else completed but this. Can someone help me please? URGENT

You create a button - change the name from button to submit by email. Then you go to your object tab and change the type to submit, go to the layout tab and change it to PDF. Then you add mailto:(email address).this will create an email message with the filled PDF as an attachment.

When you create your fillable PDF, make sure to save it as a Static Form and not Dynamic.

Hi, you have to publish it to the repository before you can have others fill it in and save it. Under the file tab, you will see "Publish it to the Respository" click on it and save it as another name. Then you can let others fill it out and save it.

Lisa, if you have ever used Excel formulas you can use a formula such as SUM("Name of Cell"+"Name of Cell"). You put this formula into cell that contains your total. Make sure to look at the top left hand side of the page to make sure that the drop down box is calculate. Once you have put the formula in, press the "+" sign. This should work for you.

I didn't mean I wanted to be paid for helping you, I meant use me IM and I can help you get through putting the form fields in. Yes, if you want your forms to be interactive, it will cost in the beginning (time to convert), but in the long road, it will save you a lot of time and money.Sorry.

I can help you, I have my own consulting business where I create these forms on a regular basis. Adobe tries to make it easier than what it is. Like I said, I have IM through MSN, AIM, Yahoo. Kimmerdog is my ID for AIM and Yahoo. MSN is my email address. Send me an email and we can talk further. You have to put in the form fields in LiveCycle Designer, unless I missed something 🙂

Hi there, from what I understand, and the way I create these fillable forms is that I open the PDF in LiveCycle Designer 8.0 and put the fields in myself. I also attach the submit button and format the button to an email address. If you like, you can email at kimsnyder@sympatico.ca or IM at MSN and I help you further. I recently created 15 documents for a company here in toronto, and I had to place the fields myself. It doesn't take long for someone who knows what they are doing.

When you change a PDF using Designer, you must use the distribute feature so that when you when you save it, it becomes published and it will be then able to be used on 7.0 reader.

Another way to fix your problem is that the fillable form should be published. If you publish it (distribute, then save for later) the form will save the data in it and will allow you to save it under a different name.By doing the above it will allow you to open the file in Adobe Reader as well, input your data and save it.

I have been creating fillable forms with PDF and Livecycle Designer, but I have run into a snag. I want to add the tax amount to the form so that it will automatically calculate the tax amount to the subtotal. How do I do this? I am new at this. Thanks.
