Hi both previous mentions(Jennifer and Kaya) are great sources to eliminate potential causes. I also would check with your  IT in case and penetration or load testing was done.

You can also use character map. Windows and Mac have them I find for multiple charachters can be quick alternative and then stops teh extra window pop ups.   GLTU
