Thank you!!!!! This has been a problem for years, and I'd usually just delete and rebuild the table to resolve. Finally, a solution that saves me the hassle...!

Re: Portrait iOS photo rotates in image field SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
I know this is a very late response to the original question, but hopefully this will help someone in the future....The issue you’re having is attributed to how Apple devices sets the photo's orientation, and it depends on how you hold the device. As long as you stay within the Apple ecosystem everything seem to works fine. However, when you navigate outside of the Apple ecosystem, the orientation of the device (when snapping a photo) becomes more important.Basically, the proper way to ensure yo...

Re: LiveCycle using PNGs SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
I suspect there's something going on with the image itself. Have you checked to ensure the image is saved in RGB vs CMYK color mode? Does the image have a transparent background. Perhaps open in Photoshop, save as a new JPEG, and try re-inserting in LiveCycle Designer.

Numeric Floating fields adds unwanted space before & after value SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
I'm having an issue with floating fields adding extra spaces before and after a currency value. The issue is that I need to show parenthesis before & after the currency so the extra spaces are problematic. I'm getting something like ( $95,000 ) instead of ($95,000). Or if I end a sentence with a currency floating field, I get a space just before the punctuation mark. So something like: "...the cost for the trip is $325.00 !")Is there a fix to this issue? It only happens with numeric-based floati...

Re: Flatten Dynamic pdf Files SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
I've tested and found the "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer driver WILL allow you to print a "password-protected" XFA (Static or Dynamic) to pdf (effectively flattening the form) unlike the "Adobe PDF" printer driver.Hence, using the "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer driver is an alternate solution for printing protected forms to pdf.Using the "print as image" option as radzmar mentions is also option, but it noticeably decreases the quality (i.e. text becomes pixelated).Hope this helps someone in...

Re: Does anybody know how I can type a number of rows in a box and have the table rows grow to that number? Right now I only have 11 rows but I might need up to 40. I will need the signatures to move to the end of the table. thank you SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi,Provided your form is "dynamic" you can achieve by using: .setInstancesWhat i would recommend is having a single Row in your table and maybe change the name to something like "DataRow." That being said, based on your screen-shot, the structure would be:Table1HeaderRowDataRowFooterRowFor the DataRow, click the "Binding" tab and check the box "Repeat Row for Each Data Item". Check the "Min Count" box and set to whatever number of rows you always want to be visible (i.e. 11).Next, you'll need a ...

Reg expression for SSN and Tax ID SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi,I'm looking for a way to validate that a user has entered a value matching either XXX-XX-XXXX or XX-XXXXXXX format. Ideally, the field will only allow numeric and "-" characters to be entered, but if that's too difficult...I could live with it simply ensuring that either format was entered (perhaps on the Exit event). The script below seems to work HOWEVER it allows the user to enter the Tax ID with 8 digits following the "-" instead of a max of 7 digits. So basically, it accepts XX-XXXXXXX (9...

Re: Instances of Table aren't shown after saving SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
No problem....when you get a chance...perhaps create a "new" document with the target version set to 9.1 or higher from the start. Then copy and paste the table into the new version and test. Also make sure "Script-based state changes..." are set to Automatically as discussed above. Things like this can be frustrating...but there's no reason why it shouldn't work if your doc, content, and scripts are setup correctly.

Re: Instances of Table aren't shown after saving SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
I know this is a late reply, but I would recommend saving your target version to 9.1 or greater. Looking at your screen-shot for the "Defaults" section, the "Choose Target version" is set to 9.0 or later. Unless you have reasons or a need to save at that version, I would highly recommend bumping up to 9.1 or later as there have been bugs associated in 9.0.Also, the part that ahlaj77 mentioned is often the reason why added subforms would disappearing after saving, closing, and re-opening the form...

Image field rotation issue associated with images imported from iOS devices SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
I currently have My Photo Stream activated on my iOS device so that anytime a photo is taken it's automatically saved to the Photo Stream album within iOS which also syncs with the iCloud for Windows desktop app. The idea is that I would take a photo on my iPad and have it show up in the synced folder in Windows (e.g. iCloud Photos), then using a PDF form with an image field (via Windows), I'd select an image from the iCloud Photo folder to embed into the form. All works well, but I noticed each ...

Re: Arithmetic over/underflow error on form open SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
That makes perfect sense. It form is alerting you of the error since you can't divide by 0 (or whatever the issue is...mathematically.)If you are using FormCalc vs Javascript, try the following in the PresentValue field...NOTE: You may need to adjust depending on the path of your fields (i.e. if they are wrapped in subforms).if (InterestRate > 0)then$ = (PaymentAmount * InterestRate) / (PaymentsPerPeriod * TotalPayments)else$ = ""end if(YOU CAN use InterestRate != 0 instead of "> 0" if desired)/...

Re: Shrink-to-fit text default font size SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
Use a multi-line text field (allowing Multiple lines) and set the field value to "0". You wont be able to control the starting font size, but the text will shrink when it reaches the end of the field (similar to AcroForms when the font size is set to Auto).Note: I believe this requires saving as a Dynamic form vs Static.

Re: Arithmetic over/underflow error on form open SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
Typically this means there's something in your calculation that causing the overflow and may happen until you (or the user) enter data that doesn't cause an overflow. Is the calc dependent on two or more separate values that must be present in order to get a valid result?Depending on what the calculation takes place (i.e. on Exit event) you might be able to modify the script to something like:if ( $ > 0) //only perform calc if entered value is gretare than zerothenperform calc script //place you...

Re: Remove a subform permanently using javascript SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi Geckoz100 - It could be one of 2 things (that I can think of).... Starting with the most likely...Under Form Properties > Run-time...ensure "Automatically" is selected (vs Manually), under "Preserve scripting changes to form when saved". This option ensure the form changes like hiding subforms remain intact (automatically) when the form is saved. If that doesn't work, try naming the fields (contained in each instance group) with unique names . vs using the default names. Also under the binding...

Re: Remove a subform permanently using javascript SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hello -The reason you are getting the error is because the system is also validating the "hidden" group (Foreign) even though it's hidden. Same thing would happen if Foreign is visible and all fields are completed, but the Domestic group is hidden. It will still attempt to validate the Domestic fields unless you wrote a script to "exclude" them. One way to resolve the issue is by setting up the groups as "instances" and then add & remove the instances via the radio button. So initially, both inst...

Re: Hiding contents of PDF based on NON-existence of a password? SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi Brian -I've been out-of-town so was unable to reply sooner.Regarding your first question/comment...I haven't tested the ability to fully edit the code, but I presume there might be some limitations. Honestly, just being able to get rid of the "Please Wait.." part and replacing it with something more informative was a HUGE success for me. Were you able to get color text as desired? Regarding the custom properties not being saved...I haven't been able to test any form to the extent you have, th...

Re: Hiding contents of PDF based on NON-existence of a password? SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
Brian -I agree, the Page Zero "Please Wait..." message associated with XFA forms can be very misleading, thus causing alot of confusion - especially with dynamic forms since those must be opened in Adobe Reader/Acrobat for guaranteed full-compatibility.There’s a partial solution made possible by using an application called PDF Stream Dumper, but it’s not very intuitive, and can be very aggravating to use.An easier/cleaner solution is to get the Designer version of AEM Forms (“AEM Forms Designer”...

I saw this and was curious to try your solution for future use.I added a standard "Add" button with script:Table._Row.addInstance(1);- After the button is initially clicked, it adds a new row to the table. - When clicked again, it adds an additional row (Row) to the table as well as a new Header row, the table appears on the 2nd page, and the first page is blank.- When clicked a 3rd time, it adds an additional row to table (table is now on page 3), the first page is blank, and the second page ha...

@jnicholas330 - Thank you very much for the link. I just got around to installing it tonight and things are working great.Funny, I own Designer ES2 and ES3 and recently purchased ES4 because I was told I could change the Page Zero default message associated with XFA forms (i.e. "Please Wait..."), but later found out this is exactly the version I needed (e.g. AEM Forms). Even so, I always thought all AEM components were sever-based...I didn't know this could be installed via Windows OS.Last quest...

Re: Does Adobe still release service Pack for LiveCycle Designer? SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that AEM Forms is part of the LC enterprise platform, vs a standalone project like Designer. Thus, I'm asking about updates to LiveCycle Designer, specifically. For example, Designer ES2 had several standalone service pack updates (fro Designer), but it seems Adobe no longer releases such updates despite Designer ES4 being the latest version. If you're saying AEM Forms Designer "supersedes" Designer ES4, and that it can be installed as a "standalon...

Re: Importing an existing PDF to a existing Lifecycle form SI_MSD7 - Adobe LiveCycle
As radzmar mentioned...if the instruction page wasn't created in LiveCycle Designer, you will either have to recreate it from scratch in Designer as the first page, or convert the static PDF to an image file, create a new page in Designer, add an image field, then import the PDF saved as an image. Remember to check the "embed option".NOTE: When importing as an image, you will not get the same quality since you're dealing with image pixels vs vector lines/text...also, the file size is likely to i...
