Another observation to this question:I have a script within the indexChange event. The script code is executed every time I click the Add button within any instance of the repeatable subform and almost every time I click the Delete (removeInstance) button. The indexChange does NOT fire when I click Delete on the last/most recently created instance of the subform. Is this normal??? I can't find any documentation to describe this behavior. If someone could point me to the correct documentation I woul...

This is related to my other post on removeInstance. It appears there is some other/bigger problem. To start over: I have a repeatable subform with Add and Delete buttons. After clicking on either button, I want to total a particular numeric field from each existing subform (I know this isn't necessary for an Add event but bear with me). I have put the totaling code in a Function (DoTotal) within a Script Object (named Locals) so its common code.Upon Add Click: addInstance(); Locals.DoTotal(); // ...

Starting Acrobat then hitting ctl-j brought up the console!Opened my form in Acrobat, did Form->Edit form in Designer (brings up LC)Then the console just sat there, never showed err messages. SighProbably as I have Reader also installed (though that didn't cause a problem before)Thanks for the help!

I'm opening in Acrobat then Forms->Edit form in Designer which starts LCStill in LC I click the Preview PDF tab to run testingIs there any way to tell the free Reader is being used? That would explain it but then the question would be how to avoid it.The console used to pop up on errors. I don't use LC often so something has changed to cause the console to stop coming up.No doubt user err, I just don't know what it is.Thanks for the help

I'm designing a form in LiveCycle, writing some code. In the past, when I made a code err the JS console poped into view with err messages but it no longer does so.I have rechecked that the console in enabled in Acrobat (9). Applied all updates. Tried ctl-j to bring it up with no success. Now must fix code problems using trial and err. Am self-taught JS coder so this slows me down a bunch.Any ideas? Thanks! (Also posted to Acrobat forum but no help as yet)

Ok, found the problem. I wan't properly qualifying the name of the Delete button. I had to add an additional "parent" to the name thus:(this.parent.parent.index)Just relying on ctl to give the fully qualified name was not sufficient.

Thanks for the responses.I have already tried (this.parent.index) with the same results, only (0) is removed. My goal is to be able to delete any instance of the subform, not only the last added. I'm building n instances in a sequence (primary and secondary sort keys). The user may save the form and come back to it later if incomplete, or perhaps use one form as the template for another version with much but not all of the information the same. Unneeded instances of the subform may be anywhere and...

I have a repeating subform with a Delete button. In the Delete button Click event I have this code:_subform.removeInstance(this.index);However, every time the Delete button is Clicked only instance 0 is removed. Naturally, I would desire the subformcontaining the Delete button that has been clicked be the subform removed, not subform (0). I have read the other posts about removeInstance but they don't seem to address my problem. Please advise on what I am missing, Thank you!

No matter what I do, my form prints with a 1" left and right margin, wasting considerable real estate I could use. I have dragged the master page content area to the edges, set all margins to 0 but nothing (yet) seems to help. This may be an artifact of my printer but it happens no matter what printer I use and with others using other printers on other systems. Thanks for the help.

You may try this logic path...After a selection is made you will have the selectedIndex. Use this index to perform a deleteItem from the DD list.

Found a solution. Instead of using the subform as a trailer, I placed it on the Master Page. During prePrint, if the page number is greater than 1, presence = "hidden".

I have a repeatable subform with a dropdown and an "Add Subform" button. The user enters various information into the subform and may either select an existing item or enter custom text into the dropdown. Then the Add Subform button is pressed. On the click event, I want to propigate the selected item or entered custom data from the 1st subform (index 0) to the newly added subform (index i).After doing a resolveNodes I try this:Array.item(i).dropdownname.rawValue = Array.item(0).dropdownname.rawV...

My form contains 3 subforms starting at the top followed by a repeatable subform. I specified the form to be legal sized and have set my printer to use legal paper. The top subforms print fine, then well over 1/2 of page 1 is blank. The repeatable subform starts on page 2 even though there is plenty of room for it on page 1. I appear to be getting an unwanted page break.Any ideas on where I should look to find out why I can't seem to use all the real estate on page 1?Thanks

I have a form developed in LC with considerable scripting. I need to strip out all the debugging alerts and send the form out to users but I would like to figure out some way to debug any future problems. My thought is to somehow log script activities so that when a failing form is returned to me I can see what was going on to produce the problem. One idea is to use a hidden listbox to record script activity - results of IF statements, FOR loops, index values, etc. I could use addItem to make a h...
