Re: Scope/reference problem following removeInstance? - Adobe LiveCycle 24-01-2012
Another observation to this question:I have a script within the indexChange event. The script code is executed every time I click the Add button within any instance of the repeatable subform and almost every time I click the Delete (removeInstance) button. The indexChange does NOT fire when I click Delete on the last/most recently created instance of the subform. Is this normal??? I can't find any documentation to describe this behavior. If someone could point me to the correct documentation I woul...

Scope/reference problem following removeInstance? - Adobe LiveCycle 23-01-2012
This is related to my other post on removeInstance. It appears there is some other/bigger problem. To start over: I have a repeatable subform with Add and Delete buttons. After clicking on either button, I want to total a particular numeric field from each existing subform (I know this isn't necessary for an Add event but bear with me). I have put the totaling code in a Function (DoTotal) within a Script Object (named Locals) so its common code.Upon Add Click: addInstance(); Locals.DoTotal(); // ...

Re: Javascript console not coming up - Adobe LiveCycle 22-12-2011
Starting Acrobat then hitting ctl-j brought up the console!Opened my form in Acrobat, did Form->Edit form in Designer (brings up LC)Then the console just sat there, never showed err messages. SighProbably as I have Reader also installed (though that didn't cause a problem before)Thanks for the help!

Re: Javascript console not coming up - Adobe LiveCycle 21-12-2011
I'm opening in Acrobat then Forms->Edit form in Designer which starts LCStill in LC I click the Preview PDF tab to run testingIs there any way to tell the free Reader is being used? That would explain it but then the question would be how to avoid it.The console used to pop up on errors. I don't use LC often so something has changed to cause the console to stop coming up.No doubt user err, I just don't know what it is.Thanks for the help

Javascript console not coming up - Adobe LiveCycle 21-12-2011
I'm designing a form in LiveCycle, writing some code. In the past, when I made a code err the JS console poped into view with err messages but it no longer does so.I have rechecked that the console in enabled in Acrobat (9). Applied all updates. Tried ctl-j to bring it up with no success. Now must fix code problems using trial and err. Am self-taught JS coder so this slows me down a bunch.Any ideas? Thanks! (Also posted to Acrobat forum but no help as yet)

Re: Still don't seem to understand removeInstance correctly... - Adobe LiveCycle 05-01-2011
Ok, found the problem. I wan't properly qualifying the name of the Delete button. I had to add an additional "parent" to the name thus:(this.parent.parent.index)Just relying on ctl to give the fully qualified name was not sufficient.
