  • We're in the same boat. This is the one area that causes a lot of poblems for us in using a PTO calendar (TIme Off) instead of the native time off feature. We have a PTO Project for a group, where a user creates a request, with an approval attached that goes to his or her manager. Once approved, the...

  • We've run into the same problem and not found a way to hide it or remove it. We have developed a custom dash board for requesters with a parameter driven report that we wanted to replace the My Requests section. Best we could do was set up the tab with text to drive people to it. Even though we've c...

  • In the setup>Email>Notifications area you can select/activate notifications. One in the TASK section is All Predecessor Task Completion to Task Dependents, which will send notice that all predecessors are complete. Another one is Task Completion to Dependents which will trigger when any one of the p...

  • Yes. Workfront does track the critical path in your project, based on the usual criteria (the critical path is calculated using the longest path of planned activities to the end of the project). In fact, the critical path is a default filter in a task list, and there is an icon that will indicate ...

  • Workfront (like many systems) requires a start and/or end date on a project, even when the project is simply a project proposal yet to be scheduled. How are you handling this? I know we can filter these out of reports by status, but still feels a bit off. One of our groups has taken to setting the s...

  • Yep. That's the way it works. A custom field is a one-for-all thing. The custom form is a container for a collection of custom fields. If you alter a custom field, you are warned that altering affects other forms. So, for example, LOCATION is LOCATION. Adding a new city or building to the LOCATION o...

  • We've identified a MAJOR problem as a result of recent changes that may affect others. Workfront messages regarding NEW WORK ASSIGNED (and some others as well) are not getting through our firewall as the messages are below the threshold of being assessed as legitimate (15k is our lower limit). The...

  • We have used SSO for a few years now, without the auto-provision option. We have internal and external users. You can designate at the user level the Federation ID for those authenticated via SAML or not for externals. The big challenge is that for internal users is that some have bookmarked the wro...

  • Not sure if you are looking for a specific user, or just in general tasks / issues assigned to users no longer active. If the latter, create a task (or issue) report, with a filter of Assignment Users>Is Active = False. You may be surprised what you find opening it up that way.

  • You've got it. A note report, however, you can filter on the type. We've found over time that the condition note sounds great in theory, but can often lead to challenges if the PM (project owner) makes some sort of comment on the project that isn't really about the condition. We've taken to using ...
