  • Time off on the calendar does not add hours to someone's utilization. It removes the availability from their timeline. So if you have a task that is scheduled for 2 days starting on Friday and Monday is a holiday, and the person assigned (and / or the project) has a calendar with that time not avail...

  • There are a couple of approaches you may want to look at. Easiest first. Go to the PEOPLE section (or TEAM section if the person has a WORK license --- never understood why the change in navigation name there). Pull of the WORKING ON tab. This will show in the calendar type view all work assigned ...

  • John, remember that the plan is the plan. Reality is almost always a bit different. In the case you mentioned, task 1 finished early, allowing task to start early (perhaps -- may depend on other factors). So, by marking task 1 as complete, the ACTUAL completion date will be earlier than the PLANNED ...

  • Eric - there are great explanations of this in the HELP area. See "https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/articles/216636328-Understanding-Progress-Status-of-Tasks" Understanding progress status of tasks and "https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/articles/217239547#understanding-project-condition" ...

  • This has been a continuing condundrum for us as well. We've approached it a bit differently. We still use one implementation milestone, then have multiple go-lives detailed under it. the milestone isnt hit until all golives are complete. We use a custom data element (check-box or Yes/No) at the ta...

  • Another option you may choose is to use the GANTT view of a task list instead of a calendar report. There you can select the planned dates. Set up a task report, choose your filter, then click REPORT SETTINGS in the upper right and click the checkbox for Show GANTT view on the details tab.Not quite ...

  • We're in the same boat. This is the one area that causes a lot of poblems for us in using a PTO calendar (TIme Off) instead of the native time off feature. We have a PTO Project for a group, where a user creates a request, with an approval attached that goes to his or her manager. Once approved, the...

  • We've run into the same problem and not found a way to hide it or remove it. We have developed a custom dash board for requesters with a parameter driven report that we wanted to replace the My Requests section. Best we could do was set up the tab with text to drive people to it. Even though we've c...

  • In the setup>Email>Notifications area you can select/activate notifications. One in the TASK section is All Predecessor Task Completion to Task Dependents, which will send notice that all predecessors are complete. Another one is Task Completion to Dependents which will trigger when any one of the p...

  • Yes. Workfront does track the critical path in your project, based on the usual criteria (the critical path is calculated using the longest path of planned activities to the end of the project). In fact, the critical path is a default filter in a task list, and there is an icon that will indicate ...
