Re: Marketing Channels: Why more Visits that Marketing Channel Instances? - Adobe Analytics 28-03-2022
Hi,Thank you for the answer and tips! My main purpose is to see from which Marketing Channel the traffic is coming. So in that case I should use Marketing Channel Instances as I understand it?Regarding the second question: If there were to be Visits with no match for any of the channels, then those visits would appear as None in the Marketing Channel dimension, which is not the case. All the Visits are attributed to a Marketing Channel but still there are about 58% the visits that have no Market...

Marketing Channels: Why more Visits that Marketing Channel Instances? - Adobe Analytics 18-03-2022
Hi,I want to see what channels the traffic to our website comes from, but also breakdown different channels with other dimensions to see what item in a specific dimension is set in the same hit as the Marketing Channel is set. 1. Should I be using Marketing Channel Instances or Visits or some other metric for this purpose?2. When I compare Marketing Channel Instances to Visits, there are more Visits that Instances. As each visit should have a Marketing Channel, I don't understand why there is a ...

Time spent per visit - bucketed for a segment of pages - Adobe Analytics 10-12-2021
Hi,I would like to see time spent per visit - bucketed, but only for a few pages. So if the visit includes other pages than the ones in the segment, those should not be included in the time spent calculation. I am using a HIT-based segment and Visits as a metric. Is this possible at all or is the whole visit always taken into account in this dimension?

Visits as metric in Marketing Channel - Adobe Analytics 20-09-2021
Hi,I have a processing rule in the Marketing Channel set up that is defined as "query string parameter icmp contains appen". This query string parameter (icmp) is collected in a dimension called Internal Campaign ID. When I break down the channel corresponding to that processing rule by the dimension Internal Campaign ID and use Visits as a metric, I have a number of visits that are classified as Unspecified. How is this possible, as the rule should only include visits that have entered the site...

Re: Is it possible to use a query string other than the Tracking code parameter in Marketing Channels? - Adobe Analytics 14-09-2021
Thank you for your response! I discovered that there was one letter missing in the rule for the query string so I have corrected this and will continue to follow the development to see if this was the only thing causing the problem or if there may be other factors. As you say, using more variables makes the rules more complex and increases the risk for errors. This is the first time we are using another query string than the one connected to the Tracking code dimension in our processing rules. I...

Re: Is it possible to use a query string other than the Tracking code parameter in Marketing Channels? - Adobe Analytics 14-09-2021
Thank you for the quick response. The main part of the traffic is being attributed to Direct, which is a rule further down in the hierarchy, so the issue does not seem to be the processing order in this case.

Is it possible to use a query string other than the Tracking code parameter in Marketing Channels? - Adobe Analytics 13-09-2021
Hi,I have defined a processing rule in Marketing Channels based on another query string parameter than the one used in the Tracking Code query string, but the traffic does not end up in the channel connected to that rule. My question is if it is possible to use processing rules based on other query strings than the one used in the Tracking Code dimension? In other words, does it have to be tied to the Campaign variable? The data for the query string I am using is collected in a separate eVar.
