I was able to use the Renovator tool to move the assets to individual (i.e., smaller) folders where I can easily delete via the UI. To do this, it was a bit labor intense in that I started with running the AEM FILES report on the parent folder and then used excel to sort into smaller segments (based on some value such as brand, or type) and saved as separate excel files based on the rules for Renovator. Then ran each of the files throughout the weekend. The largest move was 13K and it ran for ~2...

Thanks, I understand the recommended approach. However, I misstated the volume of assets that I need to delete (seriously misstated) There are a total of 110K in the folder, with 51K directly under the parent path. As a result, I cannot open the folder in CRX, this also means that 60K images are in the sub folders. I believe the sub folders are optimized as they are in date based folders that limit total assets in each folder. The good news is that these are not published as they are WIP files a...

Can we use Renovator to delete assets? I have 10K+ assets in a folder that has sub folders that I need to retain - not clear on best/easiest tool to use.

We are exploring the use of synonyms to help our search results, but it raises the question of what users are entering for their search. To my knowledge, I've not seen a preset report for this and nothing ACS AEM Commons - this is for an Assets (Author) only implementation.

Does anyone have a thought or experience on using one over the other? I have a request to create a new filter in Author for keywords model and photographer. Why the business isn't using the metadata (IPTC extension) for these is an outstanding question (are they using Bridge, Capture 1, etc.) But it raises my curiosity about the recommended use of keywords or metadata? I've been operating on the notion that "tags and keywords" were best for augmenting (personalizing) an asset (i.e., flirty, fun,...

Hey Experts! I have a business user who needs to download a special jpg rendition from a PSD (in bulk ~ 100 at a time). We currently create the rendition, but the only way to download is to select them, click download and remove the "asset" option and select the rendition. This works, but looking for a way to help make this easier and thinking Desktop or Asset Link might be a solution. Or what about creating a workflow?

@davidjgonzaleszz - update, we tested today and folder with orderable enable are the ones the place the new asset at the bottom. I will review where we have the setting enabled and take appropriate action.

We are on 6.4.7 (AMS) and have a 6.5.6 Dev. It also is happening on a 6.5.6 local instance. - Checking in CRX on these environments now. They appear to be OOTB and matching your screen capture all have InverseOrder Boolean True

Thank you David! @davidjgonzalezz As a test, I ingested a few new images to a folder that has images from several years ago. All the new assets are at the bottom of this folder, they have the "new" badge and when I looked at the json, they have a jcr:create date that is just now. Below is an image of the folder and a json for the one I just uploaded showing the jcr:create dateI created a ShareLink to the folder (but seeing the json is a bit tricky) https://author-gapinc.adobecqms.net/linkshare.h...

I've noticed that in card view, newly added assets can either be at the top of the folder UI or at the bottom? All are marked "new" and folder properties are typically the same, sometimes orderable is selected (I understand orderable is for moving around in list view - not card). Because there are often 1000's of assets in a folder I want to force all new assets to top of the folder for all folders in the system. I know we can filter on last modified or use list view but that is another set of c...

Thanks Beau, we are trying to bypass using Desktop App and upload directly to an AEM folder from the Capture 1 application. It currently uploads to a network server and the photostudio then uses Desktop app to push to AEM. Looking to save a step.

Thank you Disksha, while Asset Link is a great tool, the business want's to capture from the camera directly to AEM. Using Asset Link would still require the users to place the images on a server or local drive. This is what they do today.

We are currently using Capture One to output camera images directly to an internal network file server. The business will then use Desktop App to move the images from the server to AEM folders. We want to remove the file server and output directly to AEM. However, we do not see a way in the Capture One tool to configure (although it does use the Finder's and mounted network drive) and believe the Desktop App uses a different technology to connect). BTW: We have opened a case with Capture One, bu...

We have a large number of published assets on the Brand Portal that need to be removed. It's a little difficult to find in Author (not impossible, but will require some reporting/queries). I am wondering what happens to their status in Author, if I delete the images from the Brand Portal? Is this a recommend approach?
