When a user clicks we write the page name, module and link they click on to a cookie. When the next page loads we set those 3 values into props referring_page, referring_module and link. Correlate page to referring page.. or breakdowns in workspace and you'll always have the page before. For true be...

This is exactly what we have done for the past 14 years... works pretty well.

We use ip filtering and the internal traffic has its own report suite we can view. 

There are bot reports in analytics,  see if the columns is worth getting. 

Do you have an internal visitor ID?  Sync it with the visitor api service. It gets worse than just cname... do you use audience manager?  Demdex cookies are 3rd party...

Agreed... This needs to remain open.
