A completely off-the-wall suggestion: Other areas of Workfront like Text Mode are very sensitive to gremlins*…did you happen to copy-n-paste the HTML from another application like Notepad, Word, TextEdit, etc.? It's possible you have a Gremlin in there somewhere lousing things up. It's a long shot...
