Re: Allowing field entry for either numbers only or a specific phrase - Adobe LiveCycle 02-10-2017
The change below almost works perfectly. However, since this field is a drop-down, I need it to also allow pressing the down arrow and the enter key to select the "Not Available" option if they don't want to use the mouse. Anyone have the syntax for that?if (this.rawValue.match(/\s+Not Available\s+/g)){} else if (xfa.event.newText.match(/[^0-9]/)){xfa.event.change = "";}

Allowing field entry for either numbers only or a specific phrase - Adobe LiveCycle 02-10-2017
I have a field on a form that needs to only accept numbers (with no dashes, spaces, commas, etc.) OR accept a specific phrase. In this case "Not Available".In most cases the user with enter a number. But there are instances where the number is not known, so we want to allow the phrase Not Available to be entered into that field.Right now, I have this code in the change eventif (xfa.event.newText.match(/[^0-9]/ || /\sNot Available\s/)) {xfa.event.change = "";}It works for only allowing numbers to...

Re: Sorting XML data linked to a drop-down list - Adobe LiveCycle 07-04-2015
My data is coming from an excel spreadsheet that is updated about once a month. I am creating an XML file from that data and then importing into my pdf. I haven't tried using an XSLT stylesheet to transform it. I'm not familiar with them, so I will have to look into it.This is the first time that I have pulled in outside data, so I'm trying to learn quickly.

Re: Sorting XML data linked to a drop-down list - Adobe LiveCycle 07-04-2015
I clicked on "List Items" in the Object/Cell tab and made a data connection to an XML file. There are about 600 items in the data source, so I didn't want to type them all in.

Sorting XML data linked to a drop-down list - Adobe LiveCycle 07-04-2015
I am looking for a javascript code that I can use to sort XML data linked to a drop-down list when the list is accessed by mouse-down. For reasons that I can't get into here, I cannot sort the xml before loading it into the form.I am using LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2.1

converting validation pattern to script syntax and running check - Adobe LiveCycle 11-12-2014
Hi,I am working on a form where I want to have users enter info in a field called "ID Number" according to a strict pattern. In this case AAA9999-A.However, if the pattern is not met, I want the field to reset and the focus to be put back into the field. In other words, I don't want the user to move on in the form unless they have entered the value in the field according to the pattern.It looks like using a validation pattern does not have the capability of clearing the field input and setting t...

Re: Checkbox check style issue - Adobe LiveCycle 23-01-2014
Radzmar. Thanks. That's what I ended up doing. Copying a previous check box that worked in the same form and then changing the name, etc was what I ended up doing. The styles were fine working with a new form, but for some reason it gave me problems adding a checkbox to a pre-existing form. ???

loop not working for check of duplicate values in a repeating table - Adobe LiveCycle 23-01-2014
I have a form that is used for marking down problem items, describing the problems and assigning a value to the specified item. In some cases the problems belong to the same class. When they do, the value associated with the problem should only be marked once. If another problem in the same class is documented the value should not be recorded the second time. I have a variable that is called based on a switch statement in the exit event of the field that records the problem item number. The scri...
