Hi There,I am building a simple webApp whereby I'd like users to be able to submit their email address and it creates a new recipient record in a new recipient folder. However, if the same email address is submitted more than once - it should not create another new recipient record. To add to the complexity, I do not want any recipient records that sit in other recipient folders to be impacted.I have a simple page where a text input is stored against a variable "emailEntered".Then I am looking to ...

Hi Amit KumarThank you very much for the clear example above.I was using the standard delivery activity and was getting a bit confused between the various elements that needed configuring (bit more complex than the alert activity).I've now got it working as above. Thanks for your help, much appreciated.David

Hi Vipul RaghavI have tried to follow this but it seems to relate to a direct mail delivery, not email.Appreciate it's probably extremely similar but i have tried multiple attempts between JS activity, Initialization script on email delivery activity and variables tab on email delivery template to no avail, with various syntaxes attempted in the script i've attempted.I'm sure i'm close, but keep getting errors.A step by step run through with screengrabs would be REALLY appreciated.ThanksDavid

Hi Ananya,It does help, but I wondered if you could screengrab all the steps end to end (the overall workflow diagram and any individually configured pieces)Remember, I ideally want to get the number of a query activity output using vars.recCount; So if you could include this step (e.g. assigning this to a new variable and then displaying that new variable in an email delivery) that would be extremely helpful.ThanksDavid

Hi Gaetano,Apologies, I didn't mean to message you.Thats great that you found a resolution to your original problem by using the wildcard at the end. What I'm keen to understand is, in the event 2 (or more) files meet the filename convention when a wildcard is used - get it to load the data of all files. From basic testing, it only seems to load the data of one (and i'm not sure which).I've asked Guarang above for more insight. Will be interesting/useful to know.ThanksDavid

Hi There,I'm looking to personalise a simple workflow variable in a delivery.Basically I simply want to display the number that a query activity outputs in an email delivery.I was thinking it would be something like:Query to return a number.Javascript code to store the number as a variable: instance.vars.queryCount = vars.recCount; Then how do I personalise the "queryCount" variable value in a delivery?I've read some other posts and i'm unsure on the steps and syntax required?(Do i need to add an...

Hi Vipul,I'm also interested in this.Do you have any clear working examples about how a workflow would be set-up that, queries data to target, defines SMS message content (including long URL), makes an API call to shorten each individual URL (appreciate provider would differ, but just looking for generic example), send SMS.ThanksDavid

Hi There,At a high level, I'm trying to understand how Adobe Campaign Classic (v6.1.1) can connect (transfer data) to other applications over API.I have a little experience of understanding the SOAP methods and how external applications can make SOAP calls to Adobe Campaign to perform actions, but I'm wondering what's possible the other way, and what are common uses to connect Adobe Campaign with other API endpoints. Is there any high level use cases or documentation?I'm thinking the most common ...

Hi florentlbI agree, I feel like thats what it should do (and what I'd like it to do) but as mentioned, when running a simple test - it only seems to download a single file (and i have no idea how it decides which one to process).Any chance you could look into this a little further? I'd love a solution where a wildcard downloads all files that meet the condition. Finally, is there anyway around the wildcard only working at the end of the filename? I have a situation where I really need it to wor...

Hi J-Serge Jean-Serge Biron,Yes, the large difference between the dates is what i was struggling to understand. This is because we send all deliveries (unless time sensitive and then we may reduce) to have a validity length of 5 days. Are you aware of anything else that may cause this? (it's not a feedback loop thing, I can see these ones)ThanksDavid

Hi Marcel,My understanding is that email/webapps/report previews use the Internet Explorer rendering engine... this is what I was told when I first started using Neolane and this stacks up based on my experience of building and testing these types of resources.I'm not sure how to find out which version it is using though. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on this.ThanksDavid

I'm not looking to change the status.I appreciate that manually changing the record in anyway would update the "Update status" date/time to current date/time - However I am not ever editing records in this table (neither are any other operators)... so there must be a process that causes this, and it is this that i'm looking to understand further.ThanksDavid

Hi kapilsharma0101Thanks for your response. That makes sense, but my question really is - what process does Adobe Campaign have that would modify the records in this table and thus cause the date to change?(as it's not a manual edit of records by an operator that is causing the modification)As I said, in my head I thought once a record bounced and it was added to the table, it excludes any recipient records with matching email addresses from future email deliveries - which it is doing - so there...

Hi There,I was just inspecting the data in the nms:address table.I know that records generated with a status of quarantine are added to this table as a result of an email address hard bouncing (or soft bouncing many times). What I'm not sure about is the difference between Creation date and Update status columns.I understand that the creation date is the first time the record is added to the table (e.g. the first time that email address hard bounced). But what does the update status field indicate...

Hi Florent,Can you tell me what Adobe Campaign does in the event there are 2 files that meet the filename/wild card criteria?Seems to just pick one file when I've run a simple test?Is that correct? And if so, how does it decide which one to download? Is there a way to make it download all files and then load all records across all files that met the criteria using a subsequent data loading activity.ThanksDavid

Hi Marcel,This is fine when using a workflow... however I am doing this entirely within a WebApp (using queryDef). So I therefore need to be able to query a schema and group by (and make unique at recipient ID) all within the query:E.g.Below is my current (not quite unique) example.I was asking how it could be done using the generic query editor, simply because i'd be able to extract the XML i need from that approach.Unfortunately I cannot use a workflow dedupe activity in this situation.ThanksDa...

Hi @Vipul Raghav,Can you expand a little about a "custom delivery connector" for v6 of Adobe Campaign (classic). Is this the type of thing that would enable Send Time Optimisation (delivering a delivery to customer at best day/time based on previous engagement) or are you talking more about a solution to handle local timezones. If there is any documentation you could share, that would also be helpful.ThanksDavid
