What about using a subdomain that specifically points to the various versions? For example, I generally use http://my.omniture.com to get to the login screen.  I know that http://sc.omniture.com exists too.  Why not add a sc15.omniture.com that defaults to version 15?

When creating new report suites, we're given the ability to copy an existing one. However, that copy only takes care of props, eVars and events.  There are some other settings that would need to be turned on still.  Examples include GeoSegmentation, Participation, List varibles, Hierarchy separators...
