The extra calls are probably coming from any rules you have that contain third-party scripts. The contents of those will fire from a secondary script rather than being included in the main DTM script which makes it look like a lot of files are coming from the assets.adobedtm.com site. You can look at the contents of each of those to verify (just look in the Response tab in the developer tools).

Your non-sequential HTML tag is probably going into an iframe, so you might be seeing some issues around that. For the first case, try referencing your variable as %Sub-Total% rather than using the getVar function.

Vince,Try going into the Adobe Analytics configuration within your report suite and looking in the Library Management area. There is an option to set the reports suites via the custom code. There is a tiny bit of info at https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/dtm/library_management.html

Try using one of the HTML options (Non-sequential HTML) instead of Javascript for a block like that which contains and <div> tags.

We've run into the same limitation as well and have made the request to add the feature on the Ideas site (http://ideas.omniture.com/t5/Idea-Exchange-for-Adobe/Allow-all-users-to-copy-a-DTM-rule/idi-p/12808). We kind of thought if you can create a rule, you should be able to copy one.

Reposting this hoping that somebody has come across it or somebody within Adobe can put me in contact with somebody who can look into this (customer care seems to have no idea after 3 weeks, case 140709-000247). Here's an image of what the output looks like, what the Target offer looks like and the DTM rule (which triggers if a data layer element is set to a certain value, then attempts to wrap an mbox around a certain div) if that helps.

DTM/Target redirect offers

Has anybody been able to integrate Target via DTM and use a redirect offer?I've implemented the mbox call as seen on the "Configure synchronous mbox.js loading" help file at http://microsite.omniture.com/t2/help/en_US/dtm/t_target_synchronous_load.html.This seems to work fine when Target is just replacing content on the page. However, for a redirect type, it outputs something like this into the mbox instead of actually redirecting the page:mboxCurrent.setOnLoad(function() {window.location.replac...

We put the content of the .js files in a third party tag with sequential javascript (you can order them in there by dragging them around so the oo_engine fires first) in a page load rule triggered on top of the page. You should probably load all the files from the same page load rule in order to get the sequencing correct.

Yes, that's exactly what the direct calls do.In the above case, your javascript/jquery creating the would make a call: something like _satellite.track('xyz'). In DTM, create a direct rule and for the condition put xyz and fill out the adobe analytics portion of the screen like you would with any other rule. As you stated, you can pass in values for your props by having a data layer (just make sure to set your values before making the track call). The training video gives a little background: htt...

Going from something on Search Discovery's FAQ, it looks like the elementexists may only fire when an element enters the DOM (otherwise, the rule would probably just firing over and over since it continues to exist). It's hard to tell without seeing your code, but if the .errorflag element is already in the DOM from the first trigger, maybe that could prevent it from triggering the rule again?Could you also maybe approach it the other way and make whatever is triggering the error span to appear ...

Eric,Rather than using the built-in integration you can try to use a third-party tag with sequential HTML triggered on top of page that uses a more traditional mboxCreate syntax (this is obviously a bit different than the "create mbox around" so you may need to adjust accordingly). mboxCreate("xxxxxx");

You can change the expiration of your data element from "page view" to "session" within the UI and the value should persist when you get to the next page.

Right now, the advanced options in filtering only have is whether it contains or does not contain. At the very least, I would like to see an exact match option. Regular expressions would be great if they don't slow the system down too much.

Kind of related to what Rich said above, a way to compare current month-to-date to previous month-to-date (or previous year's month-to-date) would be handy. In the long run, it would be great to just be able to define your date ranges for comparison rather than relying on the predefined list.

labels on trend lines
Avatar

I think this is pretty minor, but ran across it yesterday. If you are comparing two date ranges, the trend line labels don't reflect the dates the data is for. I think they always use the date for the entire report. In the example attached, I'm comparing This Month vs. Last Month. In both cases, the label under the chart shows March 1 - March 31 when the chart is really showing February 1 - March 31.

I think there are advantages of both. What I think could be useful is if you kept the draggable rail like it is now. And then, if you hover over an entry in the table, it gives you an icon where you could get the navigational like the breakdown link does in a normal report (kind of like how the filter icon shows up if you hover over the dimension).

I managed to find it by clicking the hamburger menu (top left), then look in Components. You can get to the other manage screens (segments, dashboards, etc) from there too.

First, I'd make sure the rule is even firing (DTM Switch plugin is useful here). If you are defining props/evars in the custom code area, you need to use s. in front of them (like s.eVar2).

In addition, the path reports within the Analytics interface will not show page refreshes which may be accounting for your missing numbers. You can, however, see this if you use ad hoc.

Re: Allow boolean logic/containers for firing conditions within DTM

While expanded conditional logic is still a good idea, you could perform you above example using one data element. Basically, create a data element with a custom script and walk through your triggers:- check your URL match, if true return '1' (or your value of choice to indicate a match)- check your data element value for a match (either directly via JS value or use _satellite.getVar), if true return '1'- on your page load rule, see if this new data element = 1 This means you need only one rule ...

This actually happens if you have multiple s.tl() calls on the page as well and are using the fill-in-the-form option. To get around it, we stopped using the form and have taken to writing custom code for all rules in which we clear out the variables before defining new values. It would be nice if the form option had a check-box option to clear all variables other than what you are setting.

DTM: Copying rules
Avatar

mikethompson

mikethompson
- Dynamic Tag Management
1) When copying a rule, instead of just copying the name and attaching the datestamp, let the user rename the rule at the same time (rather than having to find rule, edit it, change it, etc). 2) From the second screen of the copy, add an option to take you to that exactly rule, rather than just a list of rules in the web property it is in.

There is a similar case in which if you have a third-party hosted site that is also running DTM that you want to get your own copy on.
