we use Option #1 and it serves our purposes well. we use only one Portfolio (Central Marketing), and all the programs are bucketed into the different types of projects which roughly correspond to our client base (ex. Credit Card program, Human Resources, Membership). they way we can run a report and see where our budget/time goes. as Skye says, the tasks within the campaign project are then nested into parent tasks for each piece, roughly like this: Mailer : Creative concept Production Proofing ...

ok thanks, Cory. your approach sounds similar to the way we're doing it now - exporting WF data, then importing into a pre-formatted Word doc. we're ulitmately trying to reduce the number or steps and duplication of information. yes i agree this is something WF should have as a standard offering. we can't be the only ones that need quote sheets. thanks very much, Tracy Tracy Brunet Costco Wholesale Corporation

thanks, Ashley - yes almost all of our clients are also users, but like you, we don't use approval processes. i'll look into your "custom decisions" and e-signature suggestion. i'm currently trying to figure out a similar solution - simply take a screen grab of the expenses tab and throw it into a proof for approval. i just need to figure out how to get a legible view that includes who approved it so that can be given to accounting along with the purchase orders. thanks so much. Has anyone created a printable, custom form for a quote sheet (budget)? We currently have an inelegant way of creating these - we enter all the expenses in the project's "Expenses" tab, change the view from "project owner" to "client", export it as an .xlsx file, import it back into an Excel template, format. then print. hi, Jill - just curious, is there a reason the designer is uploading the proof, rather than the project owner? we found that it was easier if they simply sent an update to the project owner with the file path to the proof, and the project owner uploaded/generated the proof. it prevents the designers from "owning" the proof, and all that entails. hi, Jill - we had a similar experience recently. the proof owner was receiving an email notification for each of the hundreds of comments being made on a very large document proof. we turned off her proof notifications, but she kept receiving them. your post answers why, so thanks for this. hi, Jill - you're not doing anything wrong unless we both are. this happens to me frequently. it seems like it should be an easy fix to have at least, as you say, a proof comment number as a reference. it may help if you filter just the comments that the user made. that would cut the hunting down for you. an additional frustration is that when an approver is tagged in a proof comment, it's common for them to simply reply to that comment in the "updates" section where they're directed - which doe...
