Are you using FormCalc or JavaScript? FormCalc requires the "then" keyword, but doesn't recognize the .length property of rawValue. JavaScript can see the "length" property of your field's rawValue, but it doesn't understand "then."For JavaScript:if (this.rawValue.length < 50) this.font.size = "10pt";For FormCalc:if (Len(this.rawValue) < 50) then this.font.size = "10pt" endif

It was an interesting mental exercise, to say the least.I would agree with your original assessment, though. They should stick to Excel. (Unless they're paying you to write an Excel knock off PDF for them.)

The forms on those two pages do not appear to be dynamic forms. That means that they are able to be opened in the various browsers you listed using the built-in PDF viewer. From Form 1040 on irs.gov. (Similar results in the PDFs that I could open without a password.)I'm going to presume your users are seeing a "Please wait..." message when they try to open the PDF. You can update to ES4 which will allow you to create your forms in HTML5 which will make the forms viewable by those users who are us...

Here's my solution for this. You'd want to do some prettying up of the layout before you submit it to anyone, of course.

OK, first let me say sarcastically that I sort of hate you for asking this question... This wracked my brain for WAY longer than it should have.I was able to get this to work with the 4 primary operators (+, -, *, and /) in order. I have not attempted to apply order of operations because that would be even worse. (It would require recursive operations that I'm not really interested in trying to pull off in LC right now.)Here's the working code for this along with some screen shots of what it loo...

I'm not sure how you labeled your rows. Here is my solution if there is just one repeated row, all named Row1.If the rows are already created and named Row1, Row2, etc., then it would look like this:

We publish almost all of our PDFs to SharePoint. (I'm not certain what version we are using, though.) Users who retrieve these files and click a submit button do not have a problem with submitting as PDFs.Are the users accessing the form from SharePoint clicking the same submit button? If they are not hitting the same button, can you verify that there is no difference in the code?If they are using the same button, can you verify that the script to submit the PDF is the same? For example:This sen...

Here's my solution for that. I'm not certain how you're doing it, but in my example, I wrapped the buttons and dropdown list for each instance in a subform. I maxed it out at 4 since I only included that many items in the drop down list.

Easiest way is to blank out one or the other once the user has selected the option in a dropdown list. (You could pop a message box and set the focus back to the same list to help the user understand what is going on.)Alternatively, you could remove the option from the list entirely before the user selects the item in the "enter" event. However, there's a lot of logical issues here since you said the list is populated as the user enters information. For an easy example like mine (where the list ...

"fillColor" is not an available property for Text. (At least as of ES3.) I think you're stuck with wrapping that Text in its own subform which would have that property. As an aside, here's what happens when you try to apply the fillColor property to Text.

Not at my computer to test, but I wrap the whole function in another if statement likeif (!nfPayment.isNull)so your cumulative total isn't entered unless there's something in the payment field. The function should already be able to handle blank fields as far as adding them together. If not, you could wrap the subtotal calculation in an if statement, too.if (!rows.item(i).isNull)(Please excuse any typos as I'm doing this from my phone.)

I don't know where you're getting the Total Hours from, but if you're having the user type them into a text field, here's a solution that will work. (If not, perhaps you can modify it to match what you need.)

Looking at the picture you provided, it appears to actually be three text/numeric fields. The second and third fields look like they have a hyphen "-" for their caption. There are no lines above or below the hyphens in the picture, and the only way I can duplicate that is to actually use multiple text fields. Are you wanting to have one field for your benefit? Or just to make the user experience more seamless? If it's just for the user's experience, you could use the change event to move the focu...

If your total is a Decimal Field set to two decimal places, that should take care of it for you. Here's my solution. (The field nfTotal has the settings pictured above.)Side note: If you just wanted to test to verify that you'll get the right answer when rounding using a decimal field, create two decimal fields--one with two trailing digits and the other with three. Set the calculate script of one with two decimals to copy the rawValue of the one with three decimals.

Here's my solution to this problem.Note the i<=this.parent.index in the condition of the for loop. That stops the calculations on whatever line you're entering numbers into. (You wouldn't want to add the payment from line 3 to line 2's total, for example.)

I would first recommend the built-in Page Navigation custom object. It does almost exactly what you've specified you want your buttons to do. The major difference being that it doesn't set the focus on TextField1.Second, are you repeating the same page so that you know for sure the field is named TextField1? When I was putting together an example to test, as I added one text field to each page, and the number incremented up each time I added a new field on a new page.So when I changed the code y...

It's not exactly using "or" in a switch statement, but it is logically equivalent. The dropdown has values a, b, c, and d.How it works: Since there is no "break" command inside of case "a", the switch statement continues through case "b", but doesn't do another check. It breaks from the switch when it sees the break command. Similarly, selecting "c" will get the same result as "d". (Since I control the options in the drop down list, the break is not strictly necessary, but I put it in anyway out...

I don't see anything syntactically wrong with this. The problem appears to be that you're checking the field you are entering. Essentially, you're script is saying, "If this field I just entered is empty, then I want to make it read only."If you're not absolutely set on the idea of making the field read only, you could instead set focus to one of the fields that needs to be filled.Try this for the enter event of your field that you want to protect when the other two aren't filled.if (TextField2....

There are a few problems that I can see from the start. First, your code is going to pick up EVERY node that exists on these pages. Some of those nodes will not have a rawValue, and some will not have an actual name. As an example, you can take your code and create a text field to dump all of the names of the nodes that you get when you pull in all of the nodes this way. Here's an example:The result:Now, the question is, do you have a consistent naming convention for your fields that might be em...

The names from the code come from the names given in the hierarchy. You'll have to find the table you're working on and get the names from there. You want this to happen on exit so that there are no other steps required to force the other items in the column to change.

Once I set up a field otherwise identical to yours, I can replicate the issue by entering an integer that is too high for the numeric field to handle. If I change the data format to Float, the field will hold larger numbers. (Select the field. Object tab, Binding subtab.)Edit: Removed unnecessary information.

Here's a sample of that code with the hierarchy. You'd have to change the names to fit what you are using for the row name and table name.As for the second master page, right-click on (Master Pages) and choose Add Master Page. Select the Object tab and Master Page sub tab. Change the Orientation to Landscape. The new pages that you set to go to Page2 will be landscape. To make sure your page is going to fall on the landscape page, create a new page, then (with the new page selected) go to the Obj...

Something like this should work:var statusIncomplete = false, rows = xfa.resolveNodes("UsersRequiringAccess.Table1.RowUserName[*]");for (i = 0; i< rows.length; i++) if (rows.item(i).FullLegalName.isNull || rows.item(i).PositionType.EC.rawValue == "") statusComplete = true;if (statusComplete) xfa.host.messageBox("Please complete all fields before submitting","FORM INCOMPLETE",0,0);else { //all of your other script starting with var retFromBox goes inside the else clause}
