Maybe you can approach it differently. A readonly field in XFA can still be set a rawValue. If you change your form design to have these fields be readOnly you can still change their values via VB?

I only have Designer 9.0 here but I was able to lock 2 radio buttons and a text field in a collection. You should not put a new question inside a comment for an answer of another question - this is not very visible and reduces your chances for a response.
