  • Do you have and/or use Liveycle for the creation of your PDFs or are these forms made in Acrobat? Both apps have what are called Actions which are prebuilt actions which can be used without knowing a single line of code. It just depends on what what app you are using because the location of the Acti...

  • This has been a known problem with LiveCycle for years. I opened a support ticket 4 years ago about this and was meet with the standard "this is an error that we do not plan to offer a fix on" from Adobe. I have a ton of forms that I use that have hidden fields that would never be set right once sav...

  • Welcome to the Forums! This is actually a great project for the Action Builder. This is a set of precoded scripts that you can call and it is a simple GUI that requires 0 code. What you can do is create 2 fields: a drop down list and a hidden TextField. What you can do is add your options to the dro...

  • If the user clicks on the actual Image Field then a dialog box will open up asking the user to find their image they want to upload onto the PDF. There is not an actual button they have to click. If you want a button to remove the image you could create a simple button with a click event of somethin...

  • It is a bit of a common misconception that Radio buttons work like check boxes. They are seperate controls. For a check box you are thinking that a checked box means yes and an unchecked box means no. A radio button is specific to each answer. That is why in the Hierarchy when you place a Radio Butt...

  • The Date/Time field, and for that matter all fields, do not have any validation set on them automatically. The only difference in each field is the tag associated with its name (TextField, NumericField, DateField) and then any extra controls it may offer, like the Calendar picker for the date field....

  • Not quite sure how you have you visible methods setup, but you can set a field to be mandatory using something like xfa.form.form1.TextField1.mandatory = "error";. So for example you could create a button with a click event using that on a text field. If the user clicks the button it will make TextF...

  • Just as a thought do you have embedded fonts selected? Go to File-Form Properties-Save Options. If you have "Embed Fonts" selected that might be doing it. I had the same problem and when I started unselecting that option the problem went away.

  • I do not believe that it is supposed to. I believe that dialog box only pops up when Adobe sees that there is no email client installed on the host machine. So for example my email client on my machine is Outlook so I dont see those errors. All that Adobe is going to do is use the default email clie...

  • I believe this highights the difference between the changing the control type for a button to "Submit" and using the integrated "Email Submit" button. If you use the integrated email submit button you can do what you are asking for, but if you change the control type of a button it must be set to a ...
