We have such setup in our instance for one of our queues. We use Fusion for this (if that's an option for you). You can build a scenario that will send email notifications wherever you want when new request is raised in specific queue. Also you can customize emailing criteria almost infinitely.

thanks @RandyRoberts , this is good tip. I'm just not a fan of navigating through too many systems. That's why I posted the idea.

I'm not sure if I read that correctly, but for me it sounds like you may want to edit layout template. There you can specify which out-of-the box WF fields are visible in Project Details. If you hide all fields from a given section, section is no longer visible.e.g. in our instance all fields relate...
