Re: Launch Bug: Query Parameter doesn't work with hashtag URL`S - Adobe Experience Platform Data Collection 28-11-2018
URL Structures have specific orders for this, and is the definition of a query-string and a hash. For a query-string to truly exist in good URL format, it would need to be before the hash. Once you hit the "#" symbol in URL structures, that denotes the start of the hash and you've already passed the position to have a query-string value (see below for ordering of URL parts). From: URL - WikipediaIn your example: https://mysite.com/#/?s_cid=testThere is no query-string.The Hash value is = " #/?s_c...

Set Variables Actions - Events should have set/no-set logic - Adobe Experience Platform Data Collection 26-11-2018
Events need the same type of set/no-set logic based on the value that is available to sprops and evars within the "Set Variables" action block. With variables, as it works today, if eVar2 is set to a data element that returns an empty string - it will not set the variable or send the info within the record call (default functionality, that is also optional - great stuff! ).With events, it doesn't seem like we have this choice. We should be able to set the value of an event to a data element that ...

Re: My DirectCall inserted a new code every time it is called - Adobe Experience Platform Data Collection 15-11-2018
Hi Fernando,Because this custom code is not embedded in the library itself (i.e. the rule isn't triggered by 'Page Top' or 'Page Bottom'), you are seeing the results of using postscribe to execute the custom code. It's also important to know that this code is executed outside of the timing control of Launch (meaning other Rules and Actions may happen before this postscribed code fully completes, yikes! ).There's no way I could explain it better than Aaronius9er9er9er : So I'd recommend reading ...

Re: backdate session hits - Adobe Analytics 05-11-2018
Hi laetizia_2018Crashes are always a different record than the other activity. (think of a crash as a whole new trackAction or s.tl call). You're initial thought process is correct about enabling the "backdate option" -> the goal is to make that record of a crash part of the previous session. In this case: session literally means Launch Event to Launch Event. Different than the definition of a visit in analysis workspace, which I explain later below...Adobe's documentation on the topics of sess...

Re: Does not exist vs Exists (exclude) - Adobe Analytics 01-11-2018
There really isn't too much difference in most applications between doing a does not exist (include), and an exists (exclude) condition. But when you start nesting conditions in your segmentation it's good to have both options (not to mention some people can conceptualize one function better than the other).'Does not exist' is a great condition with many uses. The reason it tends to get people into trouble is due to the container's level being visitor or visit, causing the user to include record...

Re: Does not exist vs Exists (exclude) - Adobe Analytics 31-10-2018
Hello Frank,You are correct that the two examples leave you with VERY different data. I'll try to break it down working from the inter-most aspect of the segment and working outward. The main aspect of this comes up all the time when I review other's reporting or during training sessions, I'd even say it's the most common misconception about how segments work.1. Visitor level - eventX does not existWorking from the inside out, we take a look at the criteria "eventX does not exist" . Once we find...

Re: Is it necessary to assign a new prop variable to capture 'My account sign in' event? - Adobe Analytics 30-10-2018
There's no hard rules for when to use an sprop vs an evar, and most of the information you'd find by googling is based on old reporting (i.e. not counting the new functionality in Analysis Workspace). The old rule of thumb was pretty much: "sprops if you need the classic pathing reports" , "evars if you want to use success events as metrics" . Both of them are just about dead in the water now, since Analysis Workspace is so awesome. I still hold by the "sprops for pathing" rule - due to some issu...

Re: Capture Anchor Text and Href in Launch Code - Adobe Experience Platform Data Collection 30-10-2018
Hey MktgCloudUser,I'm going to guess a bold assumption here, but I think it's likely the issue: "Is that a Core - Custom Code Action Block?" If it is, then hooray we've found the issue! If not, just ignore this long post Unfortunately, using a custom code action in this manner will not work for the population of values on click events (or any trigger that is not page top or page bottom - since that code is provided with-library). Adobe launch does not wait for any response or completion of custo...

Re: How to identify which tag implementation (DTM or Launch) configured for a site. - Adobe Experience Platform Data Collection 26-10-2018
From official documentation standpoint, yes I believe that's your only option (checking for the existence of turbine, basically).I would avoid '_satellite._container' , just from a general practice standpoint.

Re: Is it necessary to assign a new prop variable to capture 'My account sign in' event? - Adobe Analytics 25-10-2018
The short answer is 'no, you don't need to use an sprop' . As a general rule-of-thumb, you're doing things correctly by collection a custom event (sign in), and then collecting one or many eVars in order to break it down (sub-domain).
