Is there a way to get the sandbox environment???

Hi @SahilOb, we don't provide a sandbox environment for the mentorship program, we recommend you to get access to a sandbox within your organization. The exam format is question & answer, there are no activities or demos as part of the exam so a sandbox is not required. However it will be very helpful to have at a minimum view-only access to a sandbox so you can be familiar with the UI.

Sure. I have raised a request. Let us see how that pans out. Will try to focus more on concepts if sandbox is not there for me.

Hi team, Happy Friday!

Sending a reminder to log in to the exam prep guide if you haven't already. You'll see there are 4 sections to the exam. We will be structuring our discussion and quizzes based on these 4 sections:

  • Week of July 22: Section 1: Segments and activation
  • Week of July 29: Section 2: Privacy and data governance
  • Week of Aug 5: Section 3: Business analysis
  • Week of Aug 12: Section 4: Schemas and profiles

Each week I will post some exam details for each section along with helpful links for you to review. I will also post a couple quiz questions to test your knowledge. Please also plan to take at least 1 practice test in the next 4 weeks. There is a link to the practice test near the bottom of the exam prep guide.

Looking forward to diving into Section 1: Segments and activation next week!

Hi team, pop quiz on building audiences. Let me know what you think & why.

I want to set up a new audience that will target customers whose last purchase was 3 months ago. I plan to use this audience to send a daily email campaign with an incentive to visit my website and make another purchase. Which type of audience evaluation makes sense in this scenario?

  1. Batch
  2. Streaming
  3. Edge

Level 3

Hi @bscurlock , according to me the most suitable type of audience evaluation in this case would be Batch evaluation. The reason I say this is because:

1. Timeframe: We are targeting our audience by a specific event that occurred in the past (last purchase which was 3 months ago). This requires looking at historical data to identify who fall into this category.

2. Frequency: Since the campaign is daily and not real-time, we can afford to process the audience selection once a day, rather than needing instant updates as soon as a customer's last purchase hits the 3-month mark.

Batch processing will allow us to evaluate all the customer records, identify those who meet the criteria, and update the audience list on a daily basis, which aligns well with this campaign's requirement.

Hi @bscurlock. Batch audience evaluation makes sense in this scenario. Streaming is appropriate for continuous evaluation in response to user activities that are occurring. Since the user activities occurred in the past (ie. 3 months ago) it's not suitable.  Edge audience evaluation is instantaneous so for the same reason it's not suitable. Batch is the most suitable solution in this case as the evaluation can occur daily in response to user activities that happened in the past.

Hi @bscurlock,

Hope you are doing well.

The relevant technique would be "Batch" since the event is adhoc and had happened three months ago. Moreover, there is no need to track instantaneous updates.

Great job to all who answered - the correct evaluation method is Batch. Since the use case for activation is a daily email, there is no need to evaluate the audience in real time. Daily evaluation is sufficient. Additionally, any event lookback window greater than 1 day will default to Batch. In this scenario, we are looking back 3 months.

Pop quiz on streaming profile export. Refer to this article for some clues.

I have a streaming audience activated to Amazon Kinesis. What activity in RT-CDP would trigger a profile export to Amazon Kinesis for this audience?

  1. A new profile qualifies for the audience
  2. An update to a mapped profile attribute for a qualified profile
  3. An update to a non-mapped profile attribute for a qualified profile
  4. Both 1&2
  5. All of the above
