Identity count larger in Audience Builder than Profiles Overview

Hi, everyone.

In the Profiles Overview, you can see the count of profiles with a certain identity. However, when I use the audience builder to set that identifier to exist (for example, ECID exists), the count is much different (larger for some identifiers and smaller for others). My understanding is that the audience builder works on the profile level, so I don't understand why there would be a mismatch. To be clear, even with the error bounds for the estimator, there is still a major difference.

ECID in profile overview: 109M

ECID in audience builder: 91M

Has anyone else experienced this or know why this could be?

@kendallhall I believe the Profile count is driven from Sampling and the latest Segment job count is from a query on the Segment Export, It is possible there is a discrepancy if the sample job has been triggered properly.

Feel free to raise a Support request from the Admin Console so the teams can look into this for you (make sure to provide the sandbox name).
